Very cool.

I learned some stuff. Which conference some of these lesser division teams are in etc.

I see the state of Oregon has a top 5 in FBS, D3, and #1 in NAIA Southern Oregon , coach Helfrich's alma mater where he played QB....

:yahoo:

Let's talk about the smaller schools for a change. Ya got ties to any of these?

Linfeild, a D3 is a school that was 12 miles from my small home town. Very good winning tradition there. Ranked 3 currently.

Does your wife ever get pissed about your obsession with CFB?

Don't get me wrong. I love your passion and if you had a pussy, I'd fuck you right in it but come on. Happy wife, happy life. What's your secret?

It was part of the deal. She knew what she was getting in to.

We give each other space... I guess that is our key to a happy marriage and family.

I'm cooking my own set of computer ratings, but need one more week before they even have a chance of making any sense. But if people are interested in computer ratings for FBS teams, I suggest http//www.mratings.com/cf/compare.htm which is maintained by Kenneth Massey (whose ratings were used in the BCS system.) I'll share my ratings of 760 teams next week.

And I don't take offense to the being obsessed comment.

I realize that is likely the case. I have around 50 cfb books that I have read and shelved.

From the 4 horseman, to Bear Bryant, The U, and my favorite Oregon Ducks memorobilia locker book.

Think I might have to try and catch a Linfield game this year.

That would be fun. I haven't been in years.

I remember when I was in 3rd grade they won the NC.

I had a Linfield shirt I wore the f out...

lol

I'm starting to realize that is the key

She is not a needy person. Not clingy. I took her to a Ducks game in 2002 and she said afterwards, this is your time for you and your friends. While I don't have any objection to my buddies bringing their gfs or wives.

Just worked better for us. Either that or she thought to her self F THIS! I don't want to see my husband in that shape 8 times a year.

That is probably more likely

Done. And I can't wait for this. It will be rank as one of my best road trips for cfb. Up there with Rose Bowl

It's a really well-written book...I know I enjoyed it. I would let you borrow mine, but it's a little busy at the moment :D

That is cool. I love visiting college towns and experiencing their game weekend atmospheres.

The sea of red. Been watching it on tv since I was 6 or 7 on tv.

Now I'm gonna be in it.

I doubt I'll still be working in the athletic department in 2016 (dear God, I hope I graduate by then ) otherwise I'd give you a tour. I would definitely recommend calling and setting up a tour of the stadium. I think it's like 20 bucks or something like that per group, and they take you out on the field and stuff. Definitely worth it, because otherwise you can only go into the lobby area.

One of my favorite books which I read in my youth was "Knute Rockne, Man Builder" by Harry Stuhldreher (who was the quarterback of the Four Housemen.) Good stuff.

I love reading about the beginning years of cfb. The train trips from the west to Midwest etc.

One of my fav reads came in one of my Duck books. A Penn team and heavy favorite played a Shy Huntington led Duck team. Oregon won that game in a huge upset. Their only RB win until Jan 1st 2012

I even like reading about those Duck teams that weren't so great.

My memory bank is rich with cfb history. Especially Oregon Football's history.
