Not at all. everyone has the right to there own opinion. But bashing Allen from the get go when MOST people think we have a good offseason seems to be a bit negative to me. Plus saying im a KC hater is totally false, just b/c I don't want to give the guy a blank check this offseason.

Dean, the difference is.. most people EXPECTED Bruce to fuck up because for the most part that is what he has done since he got here. You and Coach actually applauded his every move when the majority of the world knows that this off season has been an exception to the rule of Bruce and Dan.

Whoa! I applauded this offseason b/c IMO I feel its very strong. Every Redskins fan should be doing back flips right now that we got Allen in this draft. Not bringing up the losses of Baker and RJF. That is just insane how some fans are feeling bad or unsure that these two guys left the team.

I want what is best for the team. I just don't like when players take advantage of the team. KC demanding to be the highest paid QB in the league is outrageous to me. He deserves a fair deal, but his demands are crazy.

I believe you. I wasn't referring to you or anyone on the board. When I said people would rather be right than do what's best for the team. I think everyone who frequents the board wants what is best for the Skins. We just don't agree at times on the way to get there.

I think we stayed even as far as actual talent goes. Now Allen SHOULD improve that talent level. But he has as much a chance of being the next reggie White, as he has of our own version of Dion Jordan.

Just because I think the Mcguys (as Captain Hindsight has so quaintly named them) are not some obvious upgrade, does not mean i am bashing the move. I think we stayed even as far as actual talent goes. Now Allen SHOULD improve that talent level. But he has as much a chance of being the next reggie White, as he has of our own version of Dion Jordan.

By saying Mcgee and McClain are just guys. By saying Baker would be a pro bowler under Tomsula but not these guys.

NOt a huge improvement? Werent we last against the run? If we get to the middle of the pack I would call that huge improvement.

I think the new LB will be huge as will better SS play. So yeah I can see an improved run defense. But again wen are talking about the DL specifically and I don't feel the DL FAs are an upgrade for the reasons already posted.

There has not been one substantial argument yet to show that a guy on his 5th team in 7 years, a guy whose 2 best seasons averages out to 20 tackles and under 1.5 sacks, was the best defensive lineman on his former team and this big upgrade over a player who has had far better career numbers.

I never bitched about Baker, I think he caught flack because his play was not as good as it was the year before and because he was part of a terrible unit. But if we are singling out defensive lineman for their poor play we need to go through a lot of names before we get to Baker. Even his critics here have confirmed he was the best of a terrible group.

Hey I hope you are right, and again I see McGee as the better of the two. But for me to say on May 7th that those 2 are a clear upgrade over the two that we all feel were our best two DL from last year, sorry just not ready to make that leap just yet.

Then I guess we disagree. Because I dont think either of them are actually BETTER than the guys they replaced. And switching to a new team and a new system is basically a net zero proposition. Now I agree Allen SHOULD be an upgrade. Over all the defense SHOULD be better. But we shall see.

That was my original post. Every position got upgraded from last year.

I for one will vote this off season a huge success if:
1. We sign KC to a long term deal by 7/15.
2. We sign an ILB veteran after 6/1 cuts to play next to Z. Brown.
3. We relegate both Compton & Foster to back up roles & ST only by #2 signing.
4. We promote Doug Williams to GM.

Of course I will be excited for the season. I believe we have more talent this year than last year. Anything can happen but I don't expect a losing season. IF KC thinks he deserves to be the highest paid QB in the league and proves it we should have no problem in getting to the playoffs.

So when exactly did Cousins state the he thinks that he deserves to be the highest paid QB in the NFL? I must have missed that. Can you show us a link with a direct quote from Cousins stating that?

Don't reference reports from the media that have been wrong over & over & over again. The same media that said that a trade with the 49ers was inevitable, that Romo was going to be traded to the Redskins, that Cousins refused to talk to Allen, that the Browns were working a draft day trade for Cousins, blah, blah, blah....

So please show me that direct quote from Cousins on this subject & I will be 100% in agreement with your statement. Otherwise - you are full of crap.
