I'm four for four on my wild card picks. The more experienced teams just happened to be on the road.

That's how I looked at it as well...

Look at who the QB's were:

Home QB's: McCarron, Hoyer, Bridge and Cousins... None had any postseason experience...

Away QB's: Big Ben, Alex Smith, Wilson and Rodgers, all with major postseason experience...

Well you know what that means, its all fixed.

lol ... Nah man the NFL is not fixed... Refs can suck no argument there... But it's not fixed... I do think you have to watch refs closely though, because they could get paid off to lean one way, but players are not in on some kinda fix, it would leak out .... Refs are the ones you have to always have to watch closely in pro sports..

Didn't that happen in a NBA basketball game a few years ago?

OH man the NBA has had dirty refs yes.... That's why any pro sport needs to be VERY strict and controlled with there refs..

Its not even that unusual

Home field really only truly shows up in the 2nd round.
That round tends to see the high seeds win and look good more often.

The Wildcard round and Conference Title rounds usually have 2 more evenly matched opponents.
Road Teams always play much better in the 1st and 3rd rounds even if they dont win.

Obviously there are exceptions, but over time it holds to be true mostly.

Ehh...idk...some IFs in there...the home teams look better this week for sure, they will miss Maclin, but KC has the DEF to handle NE...PIT is shaky due to injury...I think at least 1 WC team will win and would not be surprised to see 2...the 1 & 2 seeds are good obviously, but weaker than in recent yrs imo.

To hear some Hawks fans take on this, it was the Seahawks fighting to the end spirit that won this game for them, not the botched FG

...and Pats fans get called delusional.

When your team wins on a botched play from the opponent, you point out an earlier play to balance out the gift. It's what you do. :L

The marquee teams all won. It's just a coincidence, of course.

Oh ffs.

Not you too!

You seem one of the level headed ones around here.

Only commenting what I have seen for quite some time now.

In some minds, the Seahawks never lose but only beat themselves

That was PI for sure. I have seen much, much less called.

So if a receiver runs right at the defender, the defender needs to move out of the way?

The argument that you've seen less called isn't compelling. There are lots of bad calls.

It doesn't have to be compelling. It was obvious. We all saw it.

I'm pretty sure you just made all of that up.

Yeah... did not much like the call, but I have seen the same called against Packers at times, especially TE running up seam.

Yay for Alex Smith contributing to the 4 rings and 6 superbowl appearances stat!

Oh I've definitely seen it called before. I just hate that particular call because it incentivizes the receiver to run right at the defender and engage the defender.

It's the same reason why I hate seeing PI calls on badly underthrown balls.
