I was lucky enough to score tix for sat and sun at the U.S. open at Bethpage in '02.

The electricity and excitement in the air was amazing. You know that clip you see with Tiger hoisting the trophy in near darkness with all the flashes going off? I was standing about 40ft away when that was taken.

It was also when Sergio was regripping regripping regripping. The drunked NY fan base was just brutal.

JUST HIT THE FUCKING BALL! you'd hear from an adjacent fairway and yup, here comes Serge!

4 for me.

Masters twice...practice round for '98, weekend badge for the short lefty (Weir).

PGA twice...Toms layup...we were in that gallery on the 18th hole when he laid up...Keegan won the that one.

Really want to get to a USO...although I do want to make the voyage over the pond to play some of the historic courses, but not much desire to see the British in person.

Wow...I know a handful of people that have played it and they say it was surreal...we walked all 18 holes the 1st time (I thought I might never get back)...it's a massive golf course, and the elevation changes are far more dramatic in person...the drop on #10 is nearly 100' tee to green...then 11 right behind it drops another 50' or so.

Just an unbelievable place.

Augusta is a bucket list for me. I have every intention of genuflecting as I walk in.

Georgeous. I played twice with my grandfather there. Birdied 12 once but also putted the ball from the back of 15 green into the water in front of the green. It looks a lot different without the huge crowds around the green and the temporary grandstands though, kind of open.

I've been to the men's and women's Opens at Oakmont.

Gawwwd, what they did to that course...it makes me cringe.

Does the women's Nabisco count? It is their Masters.

2008 PGA at Oakland Hills....the one Paddy won and/or Sergio lost. I bought the all week pass and took a few days off. It was great. I followed several groups throughout the week. Being within a few feet of these guys and watching the shots they pull off, especially in practice with no pressure, was a real eye opener. I parked in the stands behind the long uphill par 3 17th on Sunday. That's the best vantage point on the course to just sit and see as much as possible, fwiw.

That works, haven't played anything historically prestigious yet...played a few of the TPC tracks but not Sawgrass. I've got a standing invite to play ATL Athletic Club.

Is that the club where Bobby Jones was a member?

Yep...his real home course where he grew up and learned the game was Eastlake. It had started to go downhill and the members bought property up north to the site where ATL Athletic club is now, they tried to take all of Jones' memorabilia as well, but word is he was against that...to this day both clubs claim Bobby Jones.

15 minutes from downtown ATL...a local developer gambled & spent a ton of money and resurrected Eastlake from a drug infested, crime ridden area to a middle class neighborhood, and hosting the Tour Championship.

Cool. I'd love to play a course that Jones played. I think Bradley won his PGA there as well.

Yes sir. A gorgeous layout indeed.

I was fortunate enough to get to play it 2 years ago with some buddies from work. Shooting 71 after 14 and had a great chance to break 90 and for me to do that on a course of that magnitude would have been a pretty good accomplishment. Alas, the wheels fell off and carded 22 on the last 4 holes for a 93. :gaah::gaah:

Was the first and only time in my life that I had a caddy and must say it was a pretty cool experience.
