To me this move went beyond just how good or bad Max was playing. He obviously was playing great for a rookie but the bigger issue was/is depth. Beyond Max was absolutely nothing. All 3 interior positions just look terrible for depth so the signing of Mathis gives us a nice boost to the starter position (once he gets going at least I hope) and to that of our depth at the position. If we have an interior guy go down I feel much better about Max coming in than I ever would about Shelly Smith being the next man up.

I hjave thught of a another reason to Hire Alex Gibbs yes I think in one game he would have our OL Rolling .. but there is another .. The man had our OL #1 in the NFL the one year he was here . He would get the RG going fact !

The real reason is Alex Gibbs is probably the best in all the NFL at making half time adjustments add in We need someone as sly as the Cheats because we are going to have to beat their cheating asses !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha I do wish though Alex Gibbs would come back. The people he had a falling out with are gone now and he has worked with many of these guys before that are on staff. I do think though at this point it is too late. Gibbs is just too big of a personality at this point to come in as good chance he rips every player and coach apart at some point. Players learned a ton from him but from what I understand they did not like the guy as even when they scored a touchdown he would come cuss them out.

. ...Some times you need to crap or get off the pot . Elway waited to long to sign Evan... looks like the second half of the game IMO Evans played way better so lets hope we keep Manning in the Shoot gun and Elway gets Gibbs as a consultant so he can get the Running game going like he did in the SB year .. like him or not Gibbs is gold when it comes to what made us pretty special that year he was here getting our OL as rated #1 ..
Gibbs was right when he was chewing out wonder boy at the SB ... He was right when he left because what fox was planning in the off season that same year bit them in the ass as I am sure he told them it was going to ! Gibbs is the best at getting OL playing at the highest levels the man is king in my book .

Hey only 1 sack tonight and that was because of a terrible blocking attempt by CJ. Other than that the O-Line looked great at protecting Manning. We still can't run but 1 problem at a time.

I was definitely impressed with the improvement of the pass blocking. Manning finally had some time to throw and he goes out and looks good. Amazing how those two things are related. Wish the national media could figure that out. Run blocking still suspect but looked a little better. Just need to get more consistent.

I think if people weren't so busy noticing the Lions couldn't run the ball they would have noticed that we couldn't either. 18 carries for 43 yards on the ground with our longest gain being 6. But considering we held Detroit to 29 yards on 19 carries it could've been worse.

I think We should cut someone and bring Ball back . and Look at blocking Schemes(Running Game that year was stealer compared to this year ) we were running the SB year .. I guess the Bridge to Gibbs has sailed ...At least we have film on what worked that year and Our OL we got right now should be able to pull off that in spades .

We have way better talent on our OL than that year IMO !

We get our OL as good as our SB year we are winning the SB .. It is Scheme as simple as that .. The talent is not the problem ... Sorry to say coaching and time is .. I think most can be solved .. but they better get the running game solved in the nexy few games or come the play offs we are going no were again

Sorry to say this in spades.. Our OL is suspect ... A playoff team will eat us for lunch at this point .. NE would kill this blocking scheme and I am positive of that .

And yes there D is suspect ..

I am positive this can be fixed is the good thing .. I am no fan of a TE coach being the OL Coach .. Some Position Coaches should be just that ... Sounds strange but IMO I would hire only OL Coaches for OL . That is it . Reason being ...the same reason We all loved Greg's eyes for OL . I think key is studying Our OL the SB year and Emulating it ..

Strange But we are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more talented at Center and LT and LG this year verse the SB year . No doubt in my mind .
