What grade would you give Tejas in recruiting?

It doesn't matter.
They're assistant coaching situation is steam pile right now.
They'll take what talent they have a crush it to death with stupidity and arrogance.

Georgia Tech- D. They run a triple option offense in one of the most talent rich states in the nation. Yeah, you've gotta be smart and pass actual classes to play at GT, but running a TO just seems like giving up, and GT is a team with multiple NCs.

Florida- C. Had a horrible season last year, but I think Dan Mullen was a home run hire, and I think their offense will make strides in year one under Mullen.

Tennessee- F. Coming off the worst season in school history, had the most disastrous coaching search in NCAAF history, and the settled for a D list hire. It's gonna be a while before Tennessee is relevant again.

Auburn- B- Always recruit well, always solid, but they've been the whipping boys for their two biggest rivals for over a decade now.

Auburn: has decent talent, but their running game took a big hit with graduation & early departures, and the main RB they have coming back still has to shake off the injury bug. One of their biggest obstacles is that their head coach & offensive coordinator are rarely on the same page. Sometimes not even in the same book. Defense has been steadily improving the last few years, but will probably take a step back this year due to the fact that the offense will have more trouble moving the ball consistently against the better teams on their schedule.

Offense B-
Defense C+
Special Teams A
Coaching B-

Tennessee: Butch Jones improved the talent level at UT his first few years on the job, but it is now almost back down to Dooley-level, thanks in part to graduation, transfers & early departures. The Vols were once able to take advantage of Alabama's over-recruitment at certain positions by taking in the guys that had trouble earning a starting roll with the Tide, but more of those players are now deciding to hang around & wait for their turn to shine. It's hard to guess just how good of a head coach Jeremy Pruitt will turn out to be, but we know he can recruit with the best. It will still take two or three years to get this program back to elite status.

Offense: D
Defense C-
Special Teams B
Coaching U*

LSU: So far, replacing Les Miles with Coach Orgeron has been a somewhat even trade, if a bit underwhelming. The QB position continues to be a problem & the defense is less consistent, but has had its moments.

Offense: C+
Defense: B-
Special Teams: B
Coaching: C

Mississippi St.: The Bulldogs have been very good, but somewhat inconsistent, under Dan Mullen; but then, they don't have the long-established recruiting base of teams like Alabama, Auburn & LSU; so building quality depth has been a problem. New head coach Joe Moorhead is something of a mystery, but having coached under James Franklin at Penn St., he may be more capable of making the transition from the Big 10 to the SEC than Bret Bielema was when he left Wisconsin for Arkansas. Still, this will be his first FBS head coaching job.

Offense: A-
Defense: C
Special Teams: B-
Coaching: U*

(*Note: U = unable to evaluate due to lack of data)

You have no idea how bad I wanted to squeak by Georgia just so I could use this one before playing Alabama. :tsk:

Holding steady at mediocre.
We don't really know if the new Coach is all that or not.

Herman seems like a real dick, but we knew that going in.
He was able to sneak up on teams when they weren't looking, at his old job, but seems to get his ass beat when they are paying attention, in his new job.

Special Teams D
Offense D+
Defense B+

Overall Grade of D++

Did I miss anything??

This guy is a fucking football einstein or something.

Florida- They're not gonna be competing for a natty this year, but that should be improved. I could see 8-9 wins. Mullen was a great hire.

Auburn- I think they were overrated last season and they just happened to get hot down the stretch and get their two biggest rivals at home. I think their showing in the SECCG was closer to the team they actually were. Should still be a solid team, not really a threat to win the natty though.

Georgia Tech- You never can tell. Breaking in a new DC, and Taquan Marshall should put up some big numbers again. They could be a 10 win team, they could be a 3 win team. GT is the biggest wild card in college football.

Tennessee- They're down, and they will be down for a while. I think they made another shitty hire for their HC, when you have 5 star recruits living in Knoxville, and are legacies choosing a rival over you, you have some issue. They'll be fighting Vandy for the cellar of the SEC East.

This is what bothers me to no end. Even when CGM was calling the plays it would take about 4 or5 games to really find our offensive groove. CGM should let the OC do his job unencumbered on game day.

I think their showing in the SECCG was closer to the team they actually were.

I have to disagree with you here. Johnson was injured in the Iron Bowl and never recovered. Our coaches had no idea what to do when our stud horse pulled up lame. I believe that UGA would have probably won either way, but we were not nearly the same team that won the DSOR.

Change Tom Herman to Jim Harbaugh and Charlie Strong to Brady Hoke and it’s Michigan.
That can’t be accurate. Some Michigan fan said they only lose when when the officials cheat them and the southerners just simply don’t know the rules.

Our rivals are Bama and Georgia ... I do not feel that I can say much about them that y'all don't know with one possible exception: UGA will have a starting running back better then Chubb and Michel combined. D’Andre Swift is a hoss and can be an every down back.

Offense: returns alot of talent but their GOAT is gone. Everyone is all in on their backup qb but he is 4'11" and I think that may be a problem.

Defense: returns alot of talent but they failed to upgrade at DC so they will likely underperdorm.

Special teams: idk, good I guess

Coaching: Riley tucked his dick in when he was on a big stage with arguably the greatest quarterback a storied program has ever had. Hopefully that trend continues.

Outlook: everyone in the conference except for West Virginia takes a step back this year so they probably take it down by default
