Probably the biggest name to drop thus far. Danny Kannel is out at ESPN.
Who?

Will always have a soft spot for him. He was pretty much the sole national writer that called out Ron Wellman for his bullshit hire (and defense) of Jeff Bzdelik.

Hoping he gets picked up by someone like FOX soon.
If you thought that ESPN gave zero fucks about the NHL, they really don't give a shit now. 3 NHL guys among cuts so far.
Good. That guy with his BS hot takes doesn't deserve to be hired as an actual sports journalist.Probably the biggest name to drop thus far. Danny Kannel is out at ESPN.

I realize that there must be people that like hockey, but I don't know any. From a national perspective, I just don't see how hockey could possibly measure up to the big three.
It's certainly the lowest rated/least important sport from a national appeal. It's just weird that in the midst of the hockey playoffs they'll have like 1 person actually covering the sport.

We're in the midst of the hockey playoffs?
I'm just fucking with you, @ericd7633. I knew the playoffs were on because I'm a super huge Blue Jackets fan. Er, I mean I was a super huge Blue Jackets fan. For a week or so, anyway.
Geeze, Ed was an actual journalist...the FUCK???Laying off Ed Werder..
What a dumpster fire
Not exactly. You know they are not going to dump Berman's no talent fat assI think it will be just different. For instance, I can see something like Netflix or Amazon paying the B10 network to stream games. It's just going to switch how it's done. Look at how much Amazon just paid to broadcast Thursday night football. But it's certainly disastrous for companies built on a model that requires cable companies force people to buy their product.
Their latest incarnation of Sportscenter at 6 pm needs to go.
