Inside Slant: Crushing Robert Griffin III? - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN

Very good article IMO. The writer appears to basically have the same take as me (& perhaps many others on this board). Nobody is stating that RG3 is elite or doesn't have his flaws. However - he is also not on the downside, a diva or close to being a bust at this time. You need to factor in some extreme circumstances from last season including coming of an injury and dealing with a very dysfunctional coaching staff.

All that you can really do at this time is see how he performs during the next season or two with new weapons, a new coaching staff, etc. This article also points out that sometimes even coaches and GMs from NFL teams can be wrong.

You can also include a very dysfunctional front office staff and ownership--Wrong player stuck with a crap team.

Crap team huh?

Like to see how much depth your Chargers would have after a 36 million dollar cap penalty. Idiot.

No offense Cali but our front office staff created the $36M penalty cap.

No offense taken.

Disagree tho, Mara took our $$$, not our front office.

And as dysfunctional that the Redskins were last year, this crap team still beat the Chargers

Well as many mistakes as the Redskins have made over the recent past at least they didn't fire a 14-2 head coach to only replace him with one Norv Turner. Brilliant move & one that speaks volumes about the Chargers FO.

Don't forget those damn Rooneys too...

Yep - live and learn. Apparently - the NFL is the only league & perhaps only business (outside of our corrupt govt) where you can have illegal arrangements such as an unwritten salary cap in an uncapped year! Many individuals would be in jail for implementing the same business practices that the NFL does on a regular basis.
