This schedule was set up perfectly for a run to the playoff. Texas and MSU early, Stanford at home and no Clemson or FSU. And now we get to be happy about an 8-4 season and a tax slayer bowl appearance. I think I'm going to be ill. I'll settle for 9-3 and a better bowl than tax slayer.

I actually think this would be a good bowl for ND this season and a good team to play in a bowl game. I think we get a worse bowl game and play a team like rutgers again.

Alright then, back to the what-have-you...

I think that's pretty optimistic to go 7-1 the rest of the season. If they do, that would show some reason the be optimistic about next season. Watch out for nc state and even navy, we shall see....

I don't care about improving. 9-3 is not good enough. 8-4 is not good enough. I expected 10-2 or 11-1.

Realistically when all the off season stuff started happening and the injuries to secondary guys started or happened in the off season it always became more difficult to get to double digit wins. Then the season started and just as many feared the defense didn't play well at all leading to 3 losses in four games. They need to play better just to get to 9-3 or 8-4.
