LOL this is true.

I had to call it a night, we were getting lobby's filled with full blown competitive gamers. Any time from like 11-5 AM you get people who's only purpose/goal in life is to destroy you at CoD. It's frustrating.

No worries man. I think I only played one game of TDM after you left and then quit as well. I hadn't played Confirmed Kill before. I'm definitely going to continue playing that one.....I think I may like that more than TDM. I also need to get into Search and Destroy again. I liked that for Blops 1.

One aspect I miss from Blops 1 is the "Mercenary" feature for TDM. If none of my friends were on, I liked being able to have random teams (even though they could be lopsided sometimes too). It seems like every other match I play in, I'm against a team with at least 1 or 2 ridiculously good players (and the rest of the team is decent).

I love how he says we did not do anything in 2011 because we went with Torres and Ross, but Posey's injury was mentioned only as a throw-away.

Complete tool.

However, I am good with this. The underdog thing has worked fine for us over the last few years, so no reason to change it.

Exactly. If there's one thing anyone who follows baseball (or the NFL lately) should know, it's how poor the pundits' track records are. Nobody knows nothin'.

All you can say for sure is those top 10 teams he picked are all good teams. The Giants are too. 10 teams will make the playoffs, all will be good teams. A couple will be unexpectedly good, and a couple of expected good teams won't be so good. Injuries will play a major role in all this too and those are unpredictable.

In other words, although these guys have to because that's their job, predictions and power rankings and so on are total crap. And I would say the same even if they had the Giants #1.

Completely off-topic tangent...

And college football (and to a lessor extent college basketball) bases most of what they do on this system.

Ouch...

Polls are fun, and they really help debate the merits of team A vs team B. However, to have them factor into ACTUAL rankings is a fool's errend.

Agreed, but that's what playoffs are for (or March Madness), and college football is going that way too. Not that I care much, college football is my least favorite sport of the ones that get any attention in the mainstream.

You should never be upset with having the "Nobody Believes In Us" mentality going into a season. Look at a team like the Blue Jays now, they have all the pressure in the world on them. It's tough to be in that spot.

Yeah ... nothing is ever a 'lock' ... but in my humble opinion I think the Jays, Halos and Doyers have come pretty close to purchasing a division winning team. I think that teams like that are built for a 162 game game schedule and baring some horrific injuries they tend to perform over the long run. But, even so, the playoffs are another story. All you need to do is get hot at the right time, get a little luck going in your direction and you could be the 2013 WS Champions. I would think that our pitching over a short set of series could present a very difficult obstacle for any team. Our only concern should be to reach the playoffs ... and then see how everything lays itself out ....

Espn didn't even have the Giants in the top 10 in last years playoff rankings

I'll start being concerned when they start playing games on paper

Big headlines influence these predictions anyway

We all know this. This is common knowledge.

However...

We also want everyone to acknowledge our CLEAR superiority and to bow to the dynasty.

I guess we dont always get everything that we want.

As to the title of the thread, the feelings are mutual.

As to ranking the Dogs 7th (ahead of us by X slots), all the Dogs have shown the ability to do is to spend money. On paper, on PAPER, their team looks pretty good. But if that's how we roll, let's get all the GM's in a hotel, or better yet, a middle school cafeteria, and have them play the 2013 season in Strat-o-matic, and crown the winner that way.
