Here's the same guy defending his Giants hate. Interesting stat about how of the 31 teams that won 93-95 games in the wild card era (we of course won 94 last year), 21 of them won fewer games the next year, by an average of 9 games.

What does it mean to win 94 games? - SweetSpot Blog - ESPN

Interesting article but I also have my own 'views'. I'm a firm believer in the SSS Luckfest principle. I personally believe that it affects approximately 10% of a good team's games. That's about 16 games in total. But, I believe that 'luck' is a two-sided coin. Sometimes you get the breaks and you win a game that you shouldn't (2 run homer in the 9th to win it). Other times you're on the short end of the straw and you give up a game (error) that should have been a 'W'. I also think that the other team on the field that day is playing under the same rules and there in lies the deviation factor. Maybe there were games that we should have given away but the other team gives it back. In the end you should go 8-8 in SSS Luckfest games but it doesn't play out like that .... by some fate or chance the other team's luck changes that proportion more towards good or bad. You pick up 3 games that you should have lost becase the other team self-destructs in the field. Now you're not 8-8 .... more like 11-5.

Strange but true feats of the 2012 postseason - ESPN

Among other factoids :

In the first three games of this World Series, Giants starters allowed a TOTAL of one run. The last time any team's rotation did that over any three consecutive World Series games was 107 years ago -- when the 1905 Giants did it in Games 3, 4 and 5. Christy Mathewson pitched two of those games. Christy Mathewson.

SI doesn't like us either.

Of the "Top 32 games" of 2012, none apparently include the Giants. No Cain perfect game...No Game 5 against The Reds... No Game Four against The Tigers.

You mean THIS didn't make the top 32? Inconceivable!

I am not finding this anywhere. Can you forward this old guy a link?

In SI's year end edition, they have the World Series and Panda's three homers at #13 I think.

On their MLB top ten, Cain's Perfecto is #2.

Then there is this for Zeets. :L

Did I dream it?! I can't find it anywhere. I've even assumed it wasn't SI but rather Yahoo Sports, etc. This is why it is dangerous to surf the internets. ;)

I'll keep searching.
