Ernie Banks passes away at age 83 . Wow what a fun guy for the game. "Let's play two" -Ernie Banks

Ernie you can play as much games as you want now in one day. Play Ball !

A great player who was big at SS for the Cubs and the game of Baseball.

I am sure God has Ernie right there beside Ron Santo

Hey hey no doubt about it the Cubs are on their way...hey hey

Growing up in Chicago my dad used to hitchhike to Cubs games (he lived too far from Comiskey) at the age of 16 (it was a different era...)

One time he and his buddy stuck out their thumbs and got picked up by 2 black dudes...it was Ernie Banks and Gene Baker heading to the game. From wikipedia:

In 1954, Banks' double play partner during his official rookie season was Gene Baker, the second Cubs black player. Banks and Baker roomed together on road trips and became the first all-black double-play combination in major league history.
