Ohh, Nielsen has a broken hand, that's why.
Johnson actually complained to the ref about the penalty. Any team that thought they could acquire Nielsen has to be disappointed. I don't think he was going to be traded, but you never know.
Yupp, saw it live. I also don't think he would be traded either, he's been solid for them, especially on the PP.
I think Garth will wait until next years deadline or maybe before depending on how well Strome has developed. Brock Nelson has proven he belongs. I believe Strome will as well. Nielsen has 2 years after this one left on a 4 year contract paying him 2.75M per year.
That's not a bad contract though at all. For his production, 50 point player, that's a steal. Many teams would line up for that type of production. Nelson is solid, I like him, Strome will be the #2 Center of the future behind JT.
I believe that's the plan. Having Brock Nelson is an added bonus. He's had a solid season considering how many times he's been scratched & how he's been used. The last couple of games Nelson has gotten more playing time though. Strome will obviously be called up to take Nielsen's roster spot. Centers are hard to come by & the Islanders are going to have 5 of them to start next season.
One will be move, most certainly.
