Obviously in a redraft league Bell would be a no brainer. But in a full keeper where u can keep all your players for ever, would take the young guy and hope he pans out or take the bird in the hand?

Bell is there for the long term. His value will go up and we know he's a decent rb. Once bush leaves, I could see him being a feature back. We don't even know if Ebron will be good.

I view TEs like QBs.

If I think there is a reasonable chance of the player being elite, I might take a shot, but unless you think Ebron will be the next Graham (I don't) than Bell's short term production is more valuable. It is easy to find average TEs.

My mind is telling my body to except this trade and get Bell but my hand won't listen to me for some reason.

This is a tough one to me as a Lions fan. On one hand, I don't see Ebron being a JG, JW, AG, VD level tight end at any point in his career. But I don't think Bell is ever going to be more than he is RIGHT now. He has ball control issues that won't allow him to ever be a feature back. And he has years, if not miles on his tires. Good third Fantasy back for this year and prolly next. No idea what you're getting out of Ebron. He may not even produce at the level of Brandon Pettigrew. But he could function as a #2 receiver.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.

Foot, many may think that Bell is young. But he just turned 28.

He may not have much mileage, but he went undrafted in 2010. Then either bounced around on practice squads or/and had limited stints on 5 NFL teams within 2 years. He finally found a home in Detroit in 2011.

He may be the reincarnation of Willie Parker who started his career late and only lasted a few seasons.

a Footnote--you like Bell short but Ebron long term even though i go Bell for the same reason that TEs ala Ebron will easily found over the next few years (as Tlance stated)

you would never live with it if he rocks and you traded him away

you have been high on him for awhile and who knows so you best hang on......

if you like Bell maybe bye him with something else or if some one came calling for Ebron then try to bleed out more then Bell
Let us know what happens....

Barilko, my man that is some sound advice I tell you. You are so RIGHT, I didn't even think of that. I would be sick if I traded Ebron and he became the next elite TE. On the other hand I could live with him being a bust so you are right brother. I'm keeping him and I am trusting my gut on this one, but thanks everyone for yall input, very appreciated and a special tip of the hat to brother from another mother!

I'm still not buying in on Ebron. I'd take Bell.

As much as I want to keep Ebron you guys are not making it easy. I may have to rethink this and go ahead with Bell.
