What, a Bruins player didn't get suspended?

Foligno not being hurt on the play probably factored in on it though

I still think that's fucked up. The action should determine the suspension not the result. Just because a guy didn't get his knee blown out or concussed shouldn't matter.

It's as dumb as the high sticking penalty when they look to see if a guy is bleeding before they decide if it's a 2 or 4 min penalty. Some people bleed easier than others and in some cases you could have your jaw broken but not bleed.

It makes no sense to me.

"Maybe he has sensitive skin, no?"

Agree wholeheartedly, Boss. The severity/intent of the infraction should be the measuring stick.

I have no issue with upping the punishment when an injury results, but I don't think that the lack of an injury should ever reduce the penalty.

So it should, IMO, be evaluated in two unique phases:
1) Is the offense of its own merits, worthy of a suspension and if so, for how many games?
2) If yes, did an injury result that should up the punishment?

I disagree, If a player blatantly leaves his feet and flys into a guy there is obvious intent to injure. Just because the player happens to see him coming and "ducks" to avoid a major injury should not have a bearing on the punishment.

If a player gets pissed off and intentionally cracks a player over the head with his stick and the guy is fortunate enough not to be severely injured and another player might get his skull crushed should not dictate the punishment. The intent was still there. This would stop these "marginal" hits that the players take advantage of because they don't think another player will get severely hurt but their actions.

The player dictates the penalty not the rules or the system and that's wrong.

Tell that to Tyler Ennis. In the game that Leino got the one game suspension for throwing an elbow at a players head (he deserved the suspension) Tyler Ennis was playing the puck along the boards and got plastered face first from behind into the glass and he is out with a concussion. Shanny never even gave an explanation,

If he did I missed it.

Not all have been appropriately called, but it seems like all the suspensions that HAVE occurred were because of boarding. I mean heck, they didn't even suspend Downie when there should be an automatic suspension.

McQuaid better thank Foligno for being classy in the post game interview. I think that factored into the decision as well because Foligno didn't think he intentionally tried to do it. I have a feeling it would have been a similar suspension to the one Porter got if Foligno wasn't okay though.
