I know severity of injury plays a part in supplemental discipline, but Shanny just sent out a message that if you're beat and stick out a leg resulting in a knee-on-knee hit, you'll be fine as long as the victim isn't hurt.

I have issues with that line of thinking.

So far some players are not suspended because other players put themselves at risk. Meanwhile other players are suspended because even though other players put themselves at risk the its still the offending player's responsibility to hit cleanly or not at all.

Some players answer Shanahan's questions 'correctly' and avoid suspension.

Tell that to Tyler Ennis. In the game that Leino got the one game suspension for throwing an elbow at a players head (he deserved the suspension) Tyler Ennis was playing the puck along the boards and got plastered face first from behind into the glass and he is out with a concussion. Shanny never even gave an explanation,
