Warner had a short career compared to other QB greats, but he was legitimately the best or close to the best QB in his prime. I could never say that Eli was ever the best or close to it at any point in his career. Eli ranged from mediocre to good, maybe even very good, but he didn't stand out among his peers as a great.
True...it still kinda feels like a "sell" job for Warner to me and imo when we talk about HOFers, they should be almost immediate, yes. I didn't get that immediate yes with Warner, but when you probe a little deeper, you come around.
IMO...Eli is getting in because he played in the biggest market and he won twice on the biggest stage in the game.
