Let me preference this by saying that I think he'll be here week one, but is B Rob getting traded on draft day?

Every local beat swears we are going to draft a running back, yet we brought McNichols back and tendered Rodriguez. Maybe I'm making something out of nothing and they cut McNichols and put Rodriguez on the PS.

Can you handle this truth? We aren't drafting the OSU kids. I'm disappointed too but i believe whatever RB we draft could steal the starting job

Nothing wrong with BRob in the right role. He isn’t going to change field position or take it to the house for 80 . He will get you 3-5 yds a pop with decent blocking . The 2nd half of the year he looked like he had no vision through the holes and he tried to truck everybody .

This is a deep RB draft so taking a rb or 2 could be prudent because face it crod , ECK Rob and McNichols aren’t house calling much

Probably not, because most likely both Henderson and Judkins will be long-gone by 61. I just really found it interesting that the put a tender on Rodriguez. That was the one that had me raise an eyebrow. Additionally, Robinson wasn't a Peters pick and he's due for an extension after this year.

I agree.....after the Titans game things just went to shit in the run game for the most part. I saw some holes that Robinson missed, but there were times where he had nowhere to go as well.

I expect we will draft a RB in the first three rounds. I can’t see them extending BROB for more than 3 mil/year.

I don't even need them to trade down at this point. If they are able to walk away with a pass rusher, tall boundary corner, and an explosive running back from 29, 61, and 128, I'm good.

I think that is extremely possible; however, how good do you want 128 to be?

I think there might be value for RB at 128. Brashard Smith from SMU. Sampson from Tennessee. I think that's his name. We'll see. They may pass on running back all together. Who saw us taking Newton, McCaffery and Sinnott where they did? Not me.

I think we all agree Brob has played well but he's not the ideal guy to start all 17 games this year or in the future.

He holds little value in a trade so may.as well keep him. But I've been saying for a few years that BRob is fine but they can do better. Not sure what happened at the end of the year but he was no longer fine and good enouugh. They clearly need a more explosive back and I expect that to come via the draft.

Prove it year for B Rob. Peters has to determine whether he wants to re-sign him. He's an URFA after this year. If he knows right now that he has no plans to do so, he has to weigh whether the 5th or 6th he might get for Robinson is worth not having him this year.

Agreed!! They definitely need a guy who can get the tough yard/yards, be a key member in the pass game ( blocking and receiving) and be a threat to house from anywhere on the field.

Definitely a "prove it" year for him, however his "proof" is inescapably tied to improvement or lack of the same along the offensive line. That said, I believe that his entire evaluation will be centered on what he's able to do once he's in the second and third tier of defenses, and if he can convince the coaches that he belongs on the field on passing downs.

In other words he had to become this guy:

The league has seen what message board posters saw as well, for the finaly quarter of the season and throughout the playoffs he was ineffective, slow, and for some reason stopped moving the pile. No team is giving a 5th or 6th for such a back.
