Eight Seniors for 2019 who COULD be redshirted

Boise State has a total of 24 players who will be Seniors next fall on the football team. But EIGHT of those twenty four players have not used their redshirt. That's including Alexander Mattison tho and he will - IMO - very likely leave for the NFL after the bowl game.

And thanks to the new rule in the NCAA those 8 Seniors on the Boise State 2019 football team who have not utilized their redshirt to date could play in four games next season and still return for the 2020 season as RS Seniors.

1. Alexander Mattison - RB - True Senior in 2019 (He may leave after this season for the NFL)

2. John Hightower - WR

3. Sonatane Lui - NT

4. Emmanuel Fesili - NT

5. Chase Hatada - DT

6. Tyson Maeva - MLB

7. Kekoa Nawahine - Safety

8. Nicolai Pitman - Long Snapper

Personally I would think Hightower could use a redshirt year next season in order to get his academic situation squared away - seeing as he is one of two players who did not go to the Bowl game this season due solely to poor academics.

And I would think that at LEAST one of the three defensive tackles (Lui, Fesili and Hatada) could easily be redshirted next fall so that they could be brought back for the 2020 season as a RS Senior - possibly two of the three.

But unless Maeva or Nawahine get injured I do not see them utilizing their redshirt next fall.
