Report is that he needs a 3rd back surgery and will miss the rest of the season.
He's our Gronk...Per Schefter: Eifert elected to do the back surgery. Done for '17.
At this point, the guy needs to hang em up. This is his 3rd back surgery, in addition to ankle and shoulder surgeries, and a few concussions.
I do feel bad for the guy. He's a superb player when he actually is able to suit up. Shame it couldn't work out for him.
I bet he doesn't play another snap for the bengals
Since 2013, Eifert's rookie year, Gronk has played in 10 more games than Eifert. While that is nearly 2/3 of a season, it's not as much as you'd think.Just not as good and played about 1/10 as much
For Tyler Kroft, this is his chance to get a pretty big payday. If he continues to have a good season, he can sign a long term deal in the offseason that's both favorable to him and the team. As it stands, he's only scheduled to make another 720K next season. I would figure he and his agent would jump at the chance to get him a new contract for 'starter' money.
Well, his best ability is availability. Something Eifert doesn't have.
