If I'm not mistaking all UDFA contracts are 3 years.

So you can sign a veteran to a 1 year deal, but an UDFA must be 3 years? Not saying that's not true, but it doesn't make sense. I guess if there is no guaranteed money and it's at the minimum the longer the contract is the better it is for the team. They can cut him at any time at no cost and if he pans out they have him for 3 years.

Read somewhere there is one designated practice squad spot for foreign players. As far as making the active roster he is the longest of long shots...
