Do Your Job!
For a guy many thought would not make the team, Edelman is playing very well. 3-3 again catching everything thrown to him..... He is going to get a lot of catches in regular season.
I'm not sure who thought he wouldn't make the team. He's fairly versatile and a decent special teamer. I don't think he sees much field as a receiver, though.
Dobson, Thompkins, and Amendola are all ahead of him. He's more in a competition with Boyce for 4 than having much shot to make the top 3. Also, we have vereen, gronkowski, and maybe even Sudfeld who will flank out in a lot of spots as opposed to bringing a fourth WR on to the field. When so much of our offense is out of no huddle, having four receivers on the field when we have other guys who can run those routes and also play other spots is very limiting.
I'm not sure one thing Edelman does better than any of the top three guys.
he can run the wildcat!
you hit it with the special teams play JDM.. thats his nitch.. also reserve PR/KR guy.. plus he can run a scout team as the qb as a read option i believe.. i could be wrong on that.. he has more upside then Tebow .. and if injury allows it he can make it into the wr line up.. if needed..
RESERVE punt return guy? He's the best punt returner, statistically, in Patriots history.
i thought that they didnt want him to cover punts thats where he normally gets injured.. also thought thats why the brought in washington.. but hey im wrong all the time..
I am not an Edleman but he has gotten the job done.

If Edelman caught only half his passes, he'd still be leading the team. He is leading the league.
I have been waiting for him to get a chance. He has responded.
