I think the Bucks are gonna play it safe and sit Giannis for game 5, and pray they can win at home to go up 3-2...and play it by ear from there.......just a gut feeling.
But he could be out for the remainder of this series...and if they somehow win the EC title w/o him, then he'll likely miss at least a game or 2 in the championship finals too
All of this will be moot of course, and it really depends on the medical report tomorrow.

That's preliminary though.
They'll know more tomorrow, as far as if any structural damage and if he's allowed to run or even put weight on that left leg.

I think there is a test that a doctor could immediately do to find out if there is a torn ACL. At least it isn't that.

True...and they're gonna perform an intensive imaging test on Wednesday to make absolutely sure there isn't anything else that potentially might be problematic.
I mean...the guy is their franchise right now, and for at least a few more years to come.

Personally I hope he's good to go....but like I said, I just have a gut feeling they'll sit him for game 5 and go from there.

At least that big dumb idiot Kendrick Perkins wont be talking about Batman Middleton tomorrow morning

Giannis is definitely the best player.

However, Middleton is the guy with the ball in his hands down the stretch of a close game.

Giannis is such a weird best player. Sometimes he looks utterly dominant, and at others he looks like playoff Ben Simmons. He never has full games where he sucks, but he does often tend to be a non-factor at the end when it matters most.

That test isn’t conclusive though.

Could be a partial tear, could be meniscus, many possibilities that could end Giannis’ season.

Hoping for good news.

If Bud is even thinking about putting Giannis back in at this point he really should be fired.
Gotta just save him for game 5 back in Milwaukee...or game 6 back in the ATL.
No sense in risking further damage to his knee. It's apparent the Hawks are on their way to tying this series up anyway.

Crazy how Atlanta just seemed to dominate this thing from start to finish. Bucks came out flat. Was it overconfidence due to Trae being out?

I agree with this. Problem is Perkins and Jackson flat out said Middleton is the best player on the Bucks lmao

Had they just said Middleton should have the ball at the end of games, i think everyone would have agreed

Giannis *likely* has a cartilage/bone bruise; that's likely going to land him out for the series bare minimum and most likely the playoffs. From an observant standpoint, I don't think it's an ACL (they won't know until they do an MRI).

That sucks.

Middleton and Holiday need to step up big time in game 5.

And Portis needs more PT if Giannis can't go. Maybe Lopez should play down low also.

If Giannis is done, Bucks are done right?

One would think.

However, they can definitely still beat the Hawks in a best of 3 without Trae Young or with a hobbled Young.

So no, saying they aren’t done.

Yeah I don't think Lou can step up every night like he did last night. But...maybe if he eats enough strip joint lemon pepper chicken wings?

Middleton is inconsistent (LOL) but looking at his numbers the last 10 games actually displays the opposite.

Middleton is averaging 24.1ppg, 7.9rpg, 5apg and 1.9spg while shooting 43% from the field. Pretty consistent over a fairly good sample size.

Lou would be a fairly solid replacement for Trae if they needed him to. Not many teams have an option like him on their bench.

He's consistent if you throw out the game 3 blow out.

Game 1: 15 pts on 26.1% shooting, 5 reb, 4 ast
Game 2: 15 pts on 46.2% shooting, 7 reb, 8 ast
Game 3: 38 pts on 57.7% shooting, 11 reb, 7 ast
Game 4: 16 pts on 35.3% shooting, 8 reb, 5 ast
