This is what I tell my friend who bets against them. That shit is just baaaad karma.

He was on a roll winning his bets on other bowl games.

Nobody outside Nebraska gave them a chance. The Florida teams had been owning them for aa few years. Tommie Frazier was relatively unknown and Charlie Ward was the Heisman guy. Little did anyone know that McBride had spent the previous two years revamping the defense. They essentially moved DB's up to LB and LB's up to DE to increase team speed. It paid off huge.

Pretty sure I posted after the CCG or the bowl game that I feel like I did after the 92 season. I felt like the program was in neutral and Osborne didn't have what it took to beat the Miami's and Florida St's.
I posted that I hoped Bo was doing something similar and scrapping his defensive philosophy this past off-season. Hopefully Dobson has tweeked his training program for the trench players as well. Boyd Epley was all about burst from his lineman as opposed to stamina. Short term 1-2 second burst was what he wanted.

Maybe that theory is what Dobson's stilll doing, I don't know. I just know Nebraska hasn't been the same up front on either side of the ball for a long long time.

I have only bet on Nebraska. I have NEVER bet against Nebraska. I agree, that is bad karma.

In 1983 I lived in Reno NV. The point spreads were RIDICULOUS!!!! I think I gave 47 in one game and won it.

Back then, I was a poor worker bee, and I would only bet ELEVEN dollars to win 10 bucks.

But then, it was all about the free hot dogs and free beer. Nothing like going to the Sportsbooks at 8:30 AM in the morning and starting the football Saturday off right. Of course, around 6 PM I was passed out.

But I would get right up on Sunday and do it all over again. My future wife was still in school, so I was a working bachelor in the mini town of sin.

Ah, to be young and invincible.

I went to the Cox Classic on Saturday and enjoyed free alcohol allll day long

But we ended up skippin out on all the action later that night. I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I didn't attend any of the post-activities in what may be the last year that the event is ever hosted there.

We had an absolute blast there last year. They throw one of the wildest parties I've ever seent.....and they do it Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night.

I'll come right out and say it.....I'm having problems this year....

I'm losing my cool. I feel something special coming on and this year I don't feel like I'm trying to convince myself of it......I can't wait any longer.

Thankfully there are a lot of things going on this week..........I am getting promoted at work and we are moving to a different apartment en sech......makes my mind think of other things for a few seconds out of the day at least
