Its funny even if you count those few years in the 90s when they did not have good teams. This Eagle team has been Very Good for over 25 years. I cannot remember the last time they had a Top 5 Pick. Yet now it looks like they are on a major down swing.

But it has been proven, get the right coach, add a few Legitimate New Starters, and you can turn around.

So what do you all think? Thinks the Eagles are Done for a few years, or will it be quick turnaround. Think of the Rams post Warner, and the Colts post Manning.

I think they made a good find with Bryce Brown. They spent a lot of money on Asomugha, and he hasn't really worked out. Their secondary was terrible the other night - blown assignments all over the place, and they are lacking a franchise QB. They need help on both lines. From what I saw Monday, they are probably going to be in rebuilding mode for awhile.

I agree with you. Those Lines are decimated. The Niners proved all you really need is a OLine and a Front 7 to be competitive in every game, and a great coach makes you win most of those games.

Most my family are Eagle fans, and they think the same. All their playmakers are useless without an OLine.

The Eagles are masters at selling crap at an absurdly high price (Kolb anyone?) and they tried to do it again earlier this year by talking up Foles before he even had a single snap. That will be their way out of this funk. I think their GM is a smart guy, we know he is good with the salary cap and someone there (scouts or GM or someone) that can evaluate talent. I think they will try to flip brown, see if Foles can get them through a year or two until a good crop of QB's comes along again, and maybe move some key pieces on their defense for picks and restock over the next two drafts. I could see them shutting it down this year (after this week, won't fold against Dallas) and playing for draft position. Then they will let Vick walk, make some trades, and try to get some 2nd and 3rd round picks out of their 1st this year. They have shown they can draft in the mid rounds and find good guys.

Give Foles time, draft a line in front of him, buy some defense in free agency, and PHL will be contenders in the East again next year. They have the RB and WR's, just need to keep their QB upright and supplement the defense.

The feeling here in town is that once Reid AND his staff are sent packing all will fall into line immediately there after. Personally I'm not drinking any of that kool aid. Nothing happens over night. I think they have too much talent on both sides of the ball to toil in the bottom half of the league.

I believe that their problem (to me) is the 4th string O line that's slapped together and like GS said, the secondary. The talent is there but for injuries or egos or bad bad decision making, they just cannot get it all together for a serious run this year.

Done? This year, yes. In the future? Nah.

Those same issues are what ails Dallas, so this Sundays game is going to be TERRIBLE. Our O-line is guys off the street, same with our ILB's, and our secondary has had quite a few injuries as well. Haven't heard if we have our good RB back yet, and Austin got paid and hasn't done anything since.

Sadly our problem won't go away until he is 6' under.

Truth be told, that same guy you all want to be taking a dirt nap asap is why folks from here hate your team so damn much. lol

Sunday? Yeah...it's going to be sloppy/ugly and nasty. I won't be watching it. :)

Combination of things with the Eagles. Eventually no matter how good a coach is a new face is needed and the Eagles are at that point with Reid, their O-Line his horrendous, and they don't have a real leader on this team. Their best players tend to be questionable character guys. It's just a bad situation all around.

My brother is going to that game. Me and him argue all the time about who has had the worse oline problems. I still think its the Bucs. The only difference is we had guys play better than they should have. Though I cant really argue his point that losing their LT was more of blow than any of our problems.

Not really familiar with the Dallas Oline problems specifically, other than it has been a problem. So I cant say if theirs is worse.

I figured the hate from PA for Dallas long predated Jerry.

I don't know which is worse. Our starting C has been out, the one that we signed around week 1 is out, so we moved a guard over last week who had never played C to be our starter. Our big contract RT (Free) is the most penalized and has to be the most often beat in the league. Our LT (Tyron Smith) has been ok, but he's banged up now too. Our guards are guys that we signed because their last teams didn't want them after last year (Bernideaux and some other spare). If Dallas, and the Eagles for that part, would be wise to draft nothing but OL.
