As noted Wentz is basically impossible to cut until 2022. So if he does get benched for Hurts, he will remain on the team as a very expensive backup for 2021.

Another option would be trading him. As noted here, the team that would get him would have him under contract for about $24 million a year for four years. That's not terrible, by modern NFL standards, if you actually think Wentz can be a viable starter. I could see someone like Frank Reich and the Colts doing that if Reich thinks that Wentz can thrive again under his coaching.
