Well when I get a legit source I will buy into it .

It could be true but I think I will wait till I see more then 1/2 of meaningful football to make that assessment

This year should be about reading defenses and such .

Well, I would say having Callahan come out and say he is not starting continues with the trend of he is no ready and there could be credence in Haskins’ ability to identify defenses.

This isn't really about Haskins, it's about dysfunction. Here are four things that Callahan promised to be different with respects to DH's development.

He as head coach__

1. "... I take it upon myself to be cognizant of where he needs to go and where he needs to be."

2. "will be conscientious of Haskins getting quality repetitions throughout the course of practice - a "shift in philosophy" from the early part of the season."

3. "will also try to make Haskins as comfortable within their system as they can, focusing on making sure that he has a package of plays that are "his."

4. "We're going to ... heighten his maturation process," Callahan said. "Try to get him on schedule so he is prepared."

Some significant changes wouldn't you all agree? Keep in mind Gruden didn't want him and likely didn't consider doing any of these things for Dwayne. Let's not forget that Haskins came from a program that cared for him, employed his strengths and gave him reason to seek help in learning to read/dissect defenses. He comes to D.C. (his hometown) and we now get confirmation that this was true and the reasons why.

Report: Jay Gruden didn’t want Haskins, and Haskins can ...

This is not new news. The Redskins were working with Haskin's before and after practice regularly. Haskin's admitted to needing work. He got put in half a game because Keenum's foot acted up. Lord you are so defensive of this kid. Let him play and grow.

Let him play and grow isn't going to happen right now according to Callahan. But Sty is exactly right, Haskins' development is where it is right now because his HC didn't want him. I think the comment was something like, "you accept the players your given". Bye bye Jay! Why Manusky wasn't shown the door with him is beyond me because neither were making players better or putting players in position to succeed regardless of what Chris Thompsons feelings are for Jay, lol. Manusky will not be part of the plan moving forward so he might as well be shown the door right now as well.

Well the season is lost and it should be used to try to groom the 1st round QB that was taken. Hearing reports that Haskin’s is not ready has to be disappointing for Washington fans. If a misstep was made drafting this kid it should be found out ASAP. I thought based on scouting reports that y’all got a legit QB to groom. And he has not had the opportunity to prove it one way or the other.
With a HC fired after 5 games its time to open everything up and have fun the rest of the season as most of the coaching staff and a bunch of the players will not be in Washington next year.
11 games won’t turn the kid into David Carr get him ready and let him play.

Nope. Sit haskins behind the terrible oline, and let him learn how to be a qb from others.

When the redskins get their new regime, they should find somebody who feels as though they can build around Haskins strengths, and work to upgrade the porous, subpar offensive line.

If the redskins do indeed have the speed that people say they do, then they should find players who share that attribute, and run plays accordingly.

That was one comment. He also commented that he liked Haskins but he was not ready to start yet. I also posted an article and it has been reported that he gets work before and after practice. So far most people are saying he is not ready. Nothing that has been reported in that vain has been disputed.

Everyone who had any opinion of him pre-draft always made it a point to talk about his work ethic. Before coming here there weren't any negative questions about that! It is interesting to note that players coming here somehow always end up being less the player than projected and that includes free agents and players that have been traded to us. At some point we are going to be forced to ask...WHY?

True Haskin's work ethic was not questioned pre-draft. This is what you get with Bruce and Dan. Fired the HC, rumors of firing the DC, rumors the HC is smoking dope and chasing young women and a QB that can't spell CAT and is a lazy SOB.

Yeah, I have zero doubts that they were working with him all of the time, but what were they doing? there were reports (your included) pointing out basic things like footwork. The kid is a talent, he knows how to play, what he didn't know was how to play in a manner that they wanted him to. This is Washington, an organization that is noted for trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Perhaps they wanted to form him into a classic drop back QB, or some other image that filled their imaginations instead of the talent that they decided to pick at #15. Face it man, Gruden didn't want him and acted accordingly. Callahan has him now, and has already taken charge of his development. Looking at the new plans for Haskins, you have to ask, why didn't any of this happen under Gruden?
