The word Dynasty is one that creates pride in some and anger and hatred in others. It depends on which side of the fence one is standing. I was looking through the NFL record book and started to look very close at the New England Patriots. Then started looking at other teams that had more than a couple of of years of success. The more I looked at the Patriots the less I could find that compares with this franchise.

Over the last 14 years they have never had a losing season. The worst season was 2002 with 9 wins and 7 losses. Over the past 14 years, they've won 12 AFC East Championships. 6 AFC Championships and 4 Superbowl Championships. The team has won 191 games and lost only 61.

The most amazing item is that the only two variables that have not changed over the entire 14 years are Bill Belichick and Tom Brady......................Is the team a dynasty or are BB & TB a dynasty??

Both.
Good times.

Caught on the radio, background noise in my office essentially, a commentator say we may be entering phase two of the Patriots Dynasty and they may win a couple more.
That would be a WOW, for sure.

IF they get back to the Super Bowl next year and IF they win do you think Brady might walk away with 5 rings and being a repeat SB winner for the second time? I know he's said he wants to play into his 40's. But how realistic is that anyway? Just hypothesizing.

IF this happens then I think he would be smart to retire. I mean go out on a very high note. Now, if this were to happen and they sadly lost then I think he would come back.

Regarding a Dynasty - based SOLEY on the information you provided then yes one would have to call it that.

Tough question. Usually one would say that the team is the dynasty, after looking some things up I'm not sure. The first 6 years (5 of those in Cleveland) BB was a HC he only had one winning season ('94). And save the Browns jokes for another time, we all know that franchise is a total mess & has been for years. In 2000 the BB led Pats went only 5-11. In '01 Brady becomes the starter & the rest is history. Also look @ the '08 season...Brady gets injured, the Pats win 11 games but miss the playoffs. The only year that they have missed the playoffs since Brady replaced Bledsoe. Of course one player doesn't win NFL games or SB's (although #12 just might be the exception to the rule) but what Brady has done since being named the starter is incredible.

Its a no brainer in the NFL:suds:

2001–Present. Three Super Bowl titles in four years (2001, 2003, 2004) and a fourth in 2014, two other Super Bowl appearances (2007, 2011), and nine AFC title game appearances (2001, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2011-2014). Twelve AFC East Division titles (2001, 2003-2007, and 2009-2014). The 2007 season also saw the Patriots become only the second team in NFL history to record a perfect regular season and the first to do so in a 16-game season. During this time, the Patriots set the NFL's #1 and #2 record for most consecutive games won; 18 from 2006-2007, and 21 from 2003-2004.

And then theres this:suds:

Celtics-- 1956 to 1986 (16 NBA titles in 30 years overall. 26 winning seasons, 20 division titles, 18 conference titles, including 11 championships in 13 years from 1957–69 and eight in a row from 1959 to 1966

Boston Red Sox from 1912 to 1918 Dominated the sport for 7 years (4 World Series titles and AL pennants in 7 years

Bruins need to do better:suds:

Ah maybe that is why I'm a Canadien fan :-) No not a front runner either. Dad was from Canada and brain washed me at a young age.

Pretty much, but they did a NBA Championship in 2010 I think.

Danny Ainge is positioning the team to make some moves this year that might put them back into the playoffs. He's also gotten the C's 11 first round draft picks in the next four years. Right now they're a big man away from really starting to win on a regular basis.

But we're in the wrong forum.

The Cs win the finals in 6 over the Lakers in 08. They went 66-12 that year. After that they didn't reach the finals til 10, where they got shafted in game 7 against the same team.

I read a report yesterday that it turns out the only ball that was 2 psi under the league requirement was the one that was in the Colts possession. I don't believe in coincidences. I think the Colts were tired of being beaten like a drum by the Pats again and again and again and with the blessing of their sleezeball owner they manufactured the entire deflategate bullshit. Add to the fact that the league did come out and say all the other balls were just a 'tick' under 12.5. Does that mean 12.4, 12.35? Which would seem inconsequential and not a big deal. Given the weather, not a surprise. Anyway, I hope the league comes up with the proof about the Colts and fines those bastards big time and takes several picks from them.

I'll leave the dynasty talk alone for now and just reiterate what MM said, the Patriots are the most consistent and successful team in the NFL since the Brady/Belichick duo got started in New England.

We are very lucky to have these two guys working together, very lucky.

Of course the media isn't rushing to find the "truth" on this new development. I heard that 10 of the 11 balls were .08 to .1 psi under-inflated and the only ball that was approx. 2 psi under-inflated was in the possession of the Colts after the interception until the end of the game. I heard on the radio yesterday that the NFL is now re-reviewing all of the Colts sideline tape to determine who handled the ball, where it was placed and if anything suspicious was done in either handling or storage.

If the Colts did do something to the ball..................how many of the people who've been screaming "CHEATERS, CHEATERS" will apologize? How many will say, "SPYGATE, SPYGATE"?

I can't wait to see Brady hoist the Lombardi Trophy on February 7, 2016.
