My parents did a train tour of Europe in 2007. The wife and me are always talking about doing a Mediterranean cruise, but she booked another Caribbean one.

We've done two Mediterranean ones LOVED them both, the Greek Isles and Amalfi coast...definite must do

That's the only thing that keeps me from jumping on those European tours. I am not someone who likes to be rushed, or super super regimented like that. It stresses me out and makes me tense. Which defeats the purpose of a vacation for me.

Oh for sure it's better to have a bunch of time ( also a whole lot of money), but that may never happen and better to have the experience then wait for the right time which may never happen. I had a similar vacation ( as Treff's) and while I wished I had more time it was great and truthfully the amount of money I went through was a lot (15,000) and that with relatives who I could stay with and they also lent me a great car to use.

Sounds great, but 18 days for all that is really busy.

2 days in Amersterdam, a 10 day cruise that hits everything in between (and I may not have the stops entirely accurate, I don't plan, I just pay), and then 2 days in London, plus travel/layovers

The way she plans and navigates all the arrangements, plans the payments...crazy

We certainly shouldn't be able to afford these, but we've been planning/paying on them for at least 3 years

I may have to try a cruise some day. I did take a vacation to Aruba this summer, really prefect weather while I was there and beautiful scenery, I played with the idea of staying for a few months ( since I'm retired I could do that).

My only true experience in the carrabean is cruises, but I would say if you want beauty go to Antigua. If you want something close to American luxury go to St. Thomas. St. Thomas also has Megan's Bay which is where I would retire if I had the money.

Book a quick 3 day to Bermuda out of Miami, get a taste. I thought I'd hate it...love it

I would love to draft from there .. we all talk about a Vegas Draft --just imagine a Draft in an Irish pub right there in the Temple Bar District

That would only work if we were all single. I'm pretty sure if I either a) went to Ireland without my wife I'd be divorced or b) went to Ireland with my wife and said that I needed to take a break to go do a fantasy football draft it would be the same result.

@-everyone, but especially @obxyankeefan

I'll be leaving for a big 18 day European vacation this coming Monday. I anticipate having enough time to properly manage my teams, but time to perform any emergency type 'commish' duties may be hampered for weeks 2 & 3.

Just to not put everything on obx, you could always assign commissioner duties to somebody else while your gone. Lefty or Harold get my vote since they are both retired.
