A source leaks saying D12 does not want to play under D'Antonio's system or under Kobe.

All this makes sense to me but the fact it was leaked sucks for dwight, unless it was on purpose then yeich dwight.

Have a link? Or was this made up?

With that being questioned - I can actually see it being true. Odd that on the eve of Dwight becoming a free agent, the Lakers are making efforts to re-sign 3rd string center Sacre. Hmmm...

Lakers should do a sign and trade with Dwight for Bledsoe and Griffin. I wouldn't mind seeing Bledsoe, Kobe, Griffin, and Gasol on the floor at the same time.

@Hizzle, It is all they are talking about on ESPN radio. So probably made up.

That would be sick for both LA Teams. I think the Lakers would be getting the better side though. The clips will need to keep some pieces besides just CP3 and D12.

They probably should, if it comes to that, but IMO they probably won't.
The Clippers would still IMO have by far the better team anyway.

It would be a disaster if the 2 players the Lakers thought would become the faces of their franchise (Paul,Howard) ended up playing together for the other team in their building.

What about Bledsoe and Jordan for D12?

That seems more fair and more sense imo.

Can't get a superstar for two role players. Bledsoe and Jordan is not enough.

I would be shocked if an LA deal went down, even though the Bledsoe/Griffin deal would make sense. Maybe the Lakers would send Nash along with Howard. Nash would be great as a back up PG with a minutes cap.

Agree.
The perception would be horrible for the Lakers.
The Clippers would have 3 'stars'-Howard, Griffin, Paul while the Lakers are only left with a post op Kobe for now.

It is almost IMO similar to when people were saying the Magic should trade Howard to the Heat although this is even a touchier situation.
The names and ideas made a lot of sense. You just knew though that it wasn't going to happen.

Hey Bots, Turnup, 777-3X. I have been a Lakers fan for 50+ years and D12 is what he is. I hope the Lakers make that sign and trade with the Clips or whoever else D12 deems worthy of his services. The man may play defense and has a decent offensive game but he can't hit free-throws to save his life. He pouts more often than not and he has insatiable narcissistic need that drains teh life out of everyone around him. I say if the dude wants to go, by all means show him the door. If he wants to stay, I'll take that as well. It does not matter-just freakin' make up your damn mind already!!!

It is obvious he does not want to play with Kobe or Don'tknowi and there is no worse cancer for a team than a disgruntled player who has an over-exaggerated opinion of his skills set. So, if CP-3 wants him and the Lakers can get a Bledsoe and Jordan or Griffin, I'll take it. And I'll take a Sacre over a pouting D12 any day because I can teach a guy like Sacre to do all the things that D12 does and I know I'll have a player who is going to work hard and really wants to be Laker. Sacre is not that bad of a player. Is he a D12? I don't know. Do I care if he is? Nope, absolutely not.

So, I am not offended if D12 walks. Enough stated.

I agree with all that. If I were the clips I would not give up griffin because although the holes in his game are the same as D12s you need that talent or you are in the same boat as before you got D12.

Twin towers triangle in the other LA? Griffin, D12, CP3?

That's no problem BOTS if the Clips want to keep Griffin. Send the Lakers Bledsoe and Jordon for D12. I'll sacrifice a couple of years of watching team players that play hard every night than having to sit through another season of these megaloegomaniacs thinking their excrement has no odor and constantly pouting like a three-year egocentric child.

The Lakers have proven this past season that one too many of the aforementioned players results in a complete cluster eff job that leads to uninspired basketball and a boring product and a lot of losing. As opposed to team basketball where players actually want to play alongside each other and want to win like we saw with a terrific finals series this year with the Heat and Spurs.

So absolutely. If teh Clips want the Twin Towers with Doc Rivers, by all means, I'd shoe horn that massive and fragile ego across the hall and let 'em have at it.

I know you guys might not want to hear it, but I think a lot of the pouting was because of the way Kobe basically ignored him a lot of the time.

Catch 22 for the Lakers because if Kobe really wants to play 3-4 more years, then I just don't see Howard wanting to stay in that type of situation.
Before LA, as much drama as Howard was bringing, he really wasn't ever pouting or showing frustration on the court.

Thing is, you have a perfect recipe for disaster in LA.

You clearly have the wrong coach.

You have the impatient superstar who is extremely demanding of his teammates.

And you have Dwight, who I think is trying really hard to be liked, but is way too concerned about what others think of him. As a result, he comes off as being two-faced. The problem is, he doesn't know how to say no or to stand up for himself, but he is also unwilling to defer completely.

The right coach could absolutely make Kobe + Dwight a match made in heaven. With D'Antoni, however, there is no chance. He is not a strong enough leader to bridge the gap.

Yea TurnUp. There is some truth to what you state about Kobe. And I don't mind seeing other opinions. My feelings are going to be offended by truth. I can live with the truth whether I like it or not.

For as great as he is for as long (except now that he has had a Achilles rupture), Kobe does have an antisocial side of him that is fueled by his fierce competitveness. Fragile ego guys like D12 get too caught-up in Kobe's opinion of them rather then play to their strengths. When that side of Kobe shows up, he can be perceived as real a-hole by players and fans alike.

But again, if D12 is a bad fit for the present Lakers roster, he should walk. That is one of the purposes of FA.

Report: Howard unlikely to re-sign with LAL

1041.jpg

Dwight Howard is unlikely to re-sign with the Lakers, sources tell ESPN's Chris Broussard.

The report lists the Mavericks and Rockets as the two favorites to sign the pending free agent, which isn't surprising considering he's been linked to both teams ever since the season ended. While the Lakers aren't completely out of it, they're a long shot because of Mike D'Antoni's offense, according to Broussard. Of course, as Broussard points out, Howard's legendary indecisiveness could always change things, so remember to take this with a healthy grain of salt.

Here is your source. Taken from rotoworld.

I agree tlance. You've stated exactly what is going on in LA Lakerland and the maddening thing about all of this is everyone knows it except dumbass Short Buss running the dog and pony show in the making.

Don'tknowi is a complete idiot and all of the talent (although aged) he had, he could not adjust his thinking to get this players to play in a concerted fluid effort that resulted in wins. A B. Shaw or or may be a Hollins or even a return of PJ would have had drastically different results. But nooo, that dumbass just kept saying: "Don'tknowi is my guy, Don'tknowi is my guy"!! I think he was auditioning for the Yellowbrick Road or something: "There is not place like home, There is no place like home"

Click your heels twice you freakin' idiot, Shorty!!!

Easy fix here, Mr. Buss. If you really want Howard, get a real coach who is prepared to run a better system that will fit your team needs.

I'd rather take the next best trade than Bledsoe and Jordan. Why would I want to help the clippers get D12, Griffin, and CP3???
