Not any different than taking 3 all stars and becoming favorites to win a championship. So if Golden State would have signed Curry, Clay, Green and Iggy in fa instead of having them all together already it would be different.

Any time an elite player joins a good team they become the favorites. Miami was absolutely the favorite when they landed LeBron, just like many were picking Cleveland last year. In other words these guys get a bad rap because they are so good.

When they landed lebron they were the favorites....GS was already the favorites before Durant...Miami wasn't

LeBron owns Durant too.....there is only 1 ball- and the Warriors still have no rim protection and no one that can touch the real King of the NBA. When the going gets tough in the Finals- Kyrie got better- Steph got worse. I totally understand why people wil be favoring the Warriors. The Cavs will eventually make some kind of smaller counter move- everyone will count them out- and hopefully we get round 3.

Let's not sleep on the Spurs....they just signed Pau Gasol. Those 2 are so much better than the rest of the West now, even more than last year.

I hope some of you haters rip him too for joining a superstar laden team.

No lock the Warriors beat them in the playoffs.

Duncan looking at retirement somewhat negates the addition of Gasol. Parker, Ginobli and West aren't getting any younger. They may be just a little bit old to deal with the best in the West.

There's no doubt they will run the 'small' lineup a lot: Curry-Klay-Iggy-Dray-KD, and that will win them most games.

But vs teams with a lot of size they do need some inside presence. Can't win in the playoffs with 140-125 games every day.

It will be interesting to see what they do about that.
