Again

He made 100 million in 17/18 with half of the payroll he would tentatively have with Draymond making 18 much less if Draymond is making upwards of 30 plus.

That additional 12 million cost them 60.

I don't think they can add enough revenue to overcome adding what is likely going to be 230 million more in salary.
We'll see
All moot if KD leaves which seems likely

We are talking Lakob likely losing at best 50 million a year if they do that.

Probably.

Not going to assume he isn't willing to do that though.

Franchise value 10X what it was when he bought it less than 10 years ago. New arena coming and they have made huge profits for the last 5 years.

I know the dude isn't exactly collecting cans for rent money I'm just saying it would be unprecedented cash for an American sports team.

I'm sure maybe some of the FIFA teams payroll get close

He just opted out, right? I think I saw that
There was zero chance he would take that option, when there's multiple max deals waiting for him to choose from

Kawhi is as likely to go to Sacramento as the New York Knicks

yeah, i think if he doesn't go to the clippers, he'll just re-sign in toronto but i think KD will give the Knicks a hard look.

Interesting.

Where would you put the Wizards chances? Same odds?
I'm thinking it's 50-50 for us. Can only offer an exception or the minimum, but that lure of Cleveland is hard to pass up.

Pretty sure I saw a pic of him 7-8 years ago eating a pirogi.

the knicks would be stupid to meet and think of signing durant. but then again they are the knicks just that is just par for the course

Would you prefer they spend their money on guys like Julius Randle and Tobias Harris?

Maybe if they don't land another elite player ask Durant who he likes in FA after next season and tank then get that guy.

Knicks will punt their cap room to next season.

Yep and then reports will come out they are signing 2 max guys next year.

If they strike out I think they give Cousins a big one year deal. Randle is an option but I'm sure he wants long-term

I was thinking if he was going to pick up the option anyway. Two to three years (including this one) may be better if the other years are less. Insurance may cover some? But luxury tax is a dead end. I think my problem was also assuming that he could pick up a player option. They’d be paying for nothing.
Yes... The Warriors are expected to work out a buy out with LIvingston too in the following days, according to the latest rumors...

This will give them enough cap space to resign Thompson and fill the roster up with min. contracts without paying any tax this season...

They won't go above the lux tax roof next season either... This will give them 3 more seasons after the following two, to move back into the tax, but they will get rid ofthe repeaters tax.
