2011 was a year so bad it was among the worst years for a starting hitter in the history of baseball. He was not anywhere near that bad this year.

in 2014 he hit home runs at a rate of 1 every 18 ab's
in 2013 he knocked in runs at a rate of 1 every 6.1 ab's
in 2014 he knocked in runs at a rate of 1 every 6.7 ab's

clearly the ONLY thing he was good at was hitting hr's and knocking in runs ... can we all agree on that? and just as clearly in 2013 he was better at both of these things than he's been this year this. so out of the 4 years this is actually his second worse behind 2012 and 2013. throw in the fact his offensive war was worse this year than last. also throw in the fact that his miserable numbers were all so close together it hardly makes a difference!
so, unless you're going to try and sell us on the idea that his pathetic batting average was slightly higher so he was better than last year, you are dead wrong once again.
