AMC's Dune popcorn bucket has been going viral on social media.

Since they're not yet widely available, Dune popcorn buckets are currently selling for $80 or more on eBay.

The new fad resulted in this SNL skit yesterday:

I've read all the Dune novels and seen all the previous Dune movies/series. Some ok, some not good at all.

This first Dune movie one was good. This second one looks like it could be much better. And that is really saying something.

Just saw it. Incredible movie.

Edit: Let me add a bit of nuance to that snap reaction. I think it reaches higher highs than the first movie, but also has more flaws. The more I think about it, the more blemishes I see in it. Still a really, really good movie that I absolutely recommend seeing, but, um, yeah, flawed.

I'll try and avoid the lines this weekend, so I'll be catching it on Monday. I have very high hopes.

Absolutely loved this. And I strongly recommend IMAX. Almost overwhelming.

Very good movie. Highly recommend.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS:
There were a few flaws imo. Didn't care for the way the emperor was portrayed at all. Spacing guild was cut from the movie. Thought we needed more Feyd in the movie. Part of the ending with Chani is a change from the book that I didn't care for either, but it could be worked out in a sequel.

Walken wasn't a good casting choice. He just ended up playing Walken.

I've got tickets for this Sunday.

My wife was ordering tickets... I tell her we must see this in IMAX.

She tinkers... says the tickets are way cheaper in a regular theater. She says she is getting the regular tickets. (she makes most of the decisions in our relationship)

I told her, "WE MUST SEE THIS IN IMAX!"

I won. You gotta pick your battles, and I had some credit saved up. :D

We're taking the kids also... who are probably too young for this long of a movie, but I want them to have an experience... (I loved going to the movies as a kid).

Easily the best IMAX experience I've had and I saw Dune 1 in IMAX

Caught Dune 2 this past weekend... in IMAX, of course...

... a great theater film experience... I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a "BIG" movie in a theater that delivered like this...

... the story itself was imperfect... maybe even a little dry...

But the effects and spectacle were spectacular!... some particular moments/scenes were truly epic...

... really glad I caught this one in the theater.

I got the first book of the Dune series and I'm gonna try giving the whole thing a read... might have to wait until I have more time to relax in the the summer, though. ;)

What a great movie. It's not perfect, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have an observation / question, will not put in in spoilers since the movie has been out for a month now.

I understand that "Lisan Al Gaib" is a false prophecy, planted by the Bene Gesserit so they can exploit the locals at a time of need. But Paul is still fulfilling that prophecy, including very specific details like him being awaken by "the tears of the desert spring". So, even if the prophecy is not true, does the fact that he's fulfilling it mean that he's really the Messiah?

Just saw it last night. It was good. But the pacing was a bit jarring. I kept thinking that this would have worked MUCH better as a GoT type TV series rather than a really long movie(s). For example, the whole bit from Paul being adamant that he will not travel south or drink the WoL to actually traveling south and drinking the WoL went by WAY to fast.
