Anyone else surprised that Toronto would want to do this deal? I guess I don't know enough about Gardiner to talk, but ESPECIALLY since Lupul missed most of last year and this year and has a big cap hit coming his way next year, it seemed a little strange to me.
Beauchemin doesn't have Pronger and Nieds there anymore. I think he is going to find this go around in Anaheim much, much tougher.
I think it was a pretty good return as far as Toronto is concerned reports are that Gardiner is a solid prospect and he has been playing really good in the NCAA this year.
