DT Jesse Williams on IR

Season ending, according to NFL Network ticker.

Big hit on DL depth, any one of you guys high on anyone that may be young but fills in for Williams in their D?

That's the second year in a row an Alabama DT was lost for the season as a rook (my guy Josh Chapman).

Even if healthy he wasnt really proving much anyway in the 1st two preseason games. He was getting pushed backwards.
Of course injuries were what caused him to drop to round 5. Injuries are starting to pile up on the D-line and it could be dicey there the 1st couple of weeks.

This move has been expected for a while and it is good to finally see it happen.

It doesnt do anybody any good to give him a roster spot at the expense of a more-deserving player, and it doesnt help us to cut a rookie that fell to us because of injury concerns when he may very well dominate in a couple years.

His knee needs to heal and then he needs to focus 90% on building lower-body strength.

I look forward to seeing a healthy and stronger Monstar next year.
