i understand that, but it was a bad pick when it was made.......

and the healthy scratches verify that........

like i said all along........tavon austin in the third round.........what a waste that pick was for the rams

you know when archer comes in whats happening.......he cant do much else

I agree that when he is in the game that things seem to be telegraphed for him but I'm not willing to toss in the towel on him just yet....I remember Polamalu as a rookie, he was completely and totally lost and yes I know he was the 16th overall pick but hopefully they don't give up on Archer after basically a rookie season...

Heyward was a healthy scratch and it took awhile for the light to go on for him.....glad we didn't toss the towel on that guy....

I don't know what is to become of Archer, I just want to be patient and let it figure its way.

Its up to Archer.

i agree he could turn the corner, but small scat backs dont do much.........very few do.....teams draft them all the time, and a miniscule few, amount to something

yepper pride, I'd love for the team to use him in a slash role....can he throw it???

and I wonder if he could transition to CB.....

lets get him in a position to use his greatest strength, his speed.

Unfortunately since they spent too high a pick on him they will try to use him another year. But he is pointless, he is too small to line up in the backfield and when he is on the field it is WAY too predictable.

Maybe he can turn into a return specialist?

They tried to do that with KR duties but he was 2nd to last in the league in return average. They ended up demoting him and going with Blount on kickoffs... Blount is not a return guy at all, but that just shows how badly they wanted a change from Archer. Not to say that he can't improve, so maybe!? But the first stint was definitely not successful!

I think Wheaton has taken the main KR duties for now.

Actually I was wrong, he wasn't 2nd to last... He was last. I was also wrong about Blount's experience. He actually returned 17 kicks last season for the Pats.

Yea they stripped him of his KR duties prior to the Colts game... So they gave him 7 games worth of returns and all he amounted to was a 17.9 yard average which ranked him DEAD LAST.

What fans can expect from Steelers RB/WR Dri Archer in 2015 - Behind the Steel Curtain

Hate to beat a dead horse here, but thought it was worth revisiting. I'm more interested in what the Steelers have in store for us during the draft. If they select an RB then Dri's chances of making the final 53 get a whole lot slimmer. He would most likely have to beat out Josh Harris (of whom I have a certain admiration for :hope:). I'd hate to see Archer go, because we know he has talent, but for whatever reason Haley didn't try very hard to include him in his game plans. But if Archer can't cement himself in a ST role, then I don't know how they could justify keeping him.

We shall see...

Well... They didn't draft a RB. Signed a UDFA Ross Scheuerman. Not sure how much of a threat he is to Archer. Looks good on tape though and possesses good speed. Solid one-cut runner with good vision.

Archer is going to get this year to redeem himself...as somebody mentioned already...the pick was just too high for them to abandon him after 1 season.
