Dreams of 2012
A Field of Dreams not so long ago
A double rainbow that entered our souls
It filled the sky with hope and passion
The perfect year
The perfect ending
Raindrops from our eyes and from the sky
We all went the distance together
All the cosmic tumblers clicked in at once
A halo of greatness followed the Giants on the road but also came home to stay
When times seemed tough and the odds were against us all
Backs to the wall
We all smiled and told all the haters to go to hell
The dream was alive
and we all gave each other high fives
Running through the streets of San Francisco after the NLCS
Hoisting our glasses after the sweep of mighty Tigers
No one can ever take that away
The dreams of 2012 will always be there
and no one can ever take them away
I still have dreams of 2012 in my head
and may they always lead the way
I hope and pray that the cosmic tumblers click for us again some day
2012 proved to me that dreams do come true
When each new year starts up again
2012 makes us believe this will be a year of dreams come true
as players stretch ,run, and play in the sun
When spring finally comes everything seems possible
The baseball diamond is a man's best friend
It shines brighter then any diamond on a hand
I give thanks for family and friends
Baseball is my bonus with a beer in my hand
So on this Thanksgiving
the dreams of 2012 swim around in my head
Turkey and stuffing never tasted so good as these days
2010 was great but 2012 was the cranberry and the pumpkin pie on the side
I'll never forget the Posey grand slam
Zito on the mound in St. Louis in game 5 as people yelled names
The comebacks , Scutaro standing in the rain MVP by his name, game 7 in hand
Dance in the middle of that sparkling diamond
Memories are not for sale and I feel rich in my soul
I give thanks for that fact on this Thanksgiving Day
Time to go to sleep after all this talk and turkey
I hope to dream the dream once again like the Dreams of 2012 that still swim around in my head
