108 players announced for the draft with eligibility remaining. 30 of them were not drafted. I'm glad that no ND players fell into that category.
Were Fuller and Smith the only ones to fall in that category?
I think RS had a 5th year of eligibility he didn't use, but I think he is (or was) still trying to get his degree.
I think its imporatant that as many of them get degrees as they can, for guys like Shumate and Carlisle, who will be lucky to make a 53 man roster, it will suit them well. For Fuller and JS, it was a no-brainer decision. I also think Russell's availability is dependent on whether his year in the gulag can count as a redshirt year, since he didn't have one before.I'm not sure how they determine this group of 108 players. Because in addition to the ones you mentioned, I think Prosise and K. Russel could have also returned for another year.

That's what I figured, but wasn't sure if the fact that he was banned from playing is different from shelving him for a year. You have five years to complete your four years of eligibility, so his year in Siberia would have been one of his five.
I think all 7 will be highly productive for their teams and should enjoy above-average careers in the NFL.It was a good draft overall the they had 6 guys go in the first three round and a seventh in round 4.
