OLB
They need to ignite the pass rush, not to mention depth. Worilds (FA) will likely ask for $25-30mil contract. Moats is a FA and can be resigned for cheaper. JJ is underwhelming at this point. They might need help fast if Worilds signs elsewhere.

CB
Obviously a big need. Taylor probably wont be resigned. McCain should be resigned. Blake is a UFA, so maybe. Last season they should have double-dipped, but didn't... So I'm expecting it is a MUST this draft.

OT/OG
Foster's eventual replacement, unless they see Wallace as that guy. But I'd like a big OT so they could move Beachum inside.

TE
Heath's nearing the end. Spaeth is a FA. Blanchflower will take time to groom.

S
Allen & Golden are FA's. Poly is/should be at the end of his career. Mitchell is underwhelming.

What? I'm going go a little further and throw a few pre-combine names out.

I think it's been confirmed that 22nd is the Steelers draft position.

Best case...1st rd...Dante Fowler, OLB, FL...I would still make a fair market offer to Worilds...if he goes, I would jack up the offer a bit to Harrison to bridge the gap.

Possible case...1st rd...Trae Waynes, CB, Mich St...likely will be the 1st CB off the board...word from Ed Bouchette was Justin Gilbert was the coveted pick last year, but obviously that never materialized...if true, I think they will go CB in the 1st even though CB early is a risky play.

Probable case...1st rd...PJ Williams, CB, FSU...has the size, good speed and plays with some swagger...once coached up to the NFL game I think he will be a playmaker at this level.

Going into the 2nd round...Jordan Jenkins, OLB, UGA....I like his quickness...bigger, stronger than JJ, about the same foot speed

Face's list looks good as far as positional needs.

Agreed.
The problem that I see is that we have so many question marks on defense:
Will Worilds be resigned?
Will JJ develop into the player he was drafted to be?
Is Mitchell actually as bad as he appeared to be at FS? Is he better suited for SS?
Can Sharknado take over for TP or is he a career STer?
Will Cortez the Killer recover his confidence and justify his contract?

At least we're set at ILB and pretty good along the Dline (though we need some depth there).

I agree but would add backup RB to the list. They need a viable backup and someone with a simular skill set to Bell that could lessen his work load just a bit. A FA signing could be used to fill this need before the draft. I just hope they don't think Tate is good enough to fill this need for next year. Other than his first couple of runs he didn't do much and I expect a back of his size to push the pile backward a little bit when he hits it and he just seemed to go down on first contact a lot.

Not sure how they could afford him, but he gets an open arms welcome as far as I'm concerned...the Steelers are probably not going to have a 50 sack type front 7 next year...the back 4 must get bigger and more talented to go to the next level.

The ideal situation would be to sign Maxwell and have Allen return to his '13 playing form...with Gay in the slot and McCain or Blake in dime. A rookie to replace Allen might work too.

I would do this year what we didn't last year and draft the Michigan St CB in round one.
