Versteeg is not worth #15 IMO. If I were Florida, I'd want more.

1) Dale Tallon slurps him
2) Panthers dont want to take on any more salary than Versteegs
3) probably some other non first round pick would have to be included

Sutter apparently trying to swing a deal to acquire a 1st round pick. They're howling about this in the desert.

@mattsekeres Canucks contemplating trading for Florida D Keith Ballard. Another scenario involves Vancouver's 25th overall pick.

hey i got a question about the rfa compensation on offer sheets ... it changes every year right ... have the numbers/scales been publicized yet?

this was last year

OFFER
COMPENSATION
$994,433 or below None
Over $994,433 to $1,506,716
Third-round choice
Over $1,506,716 to $3,013,434 Second-round choice
Over $3,013,434 to $4,520,150 First-round and third-round choice
Over $4,520,150 to $6,026,867 First-round, second-round and third-round choice
Over $6,026,867 to $7,533,584 Two first-round choices, one second- and one third-round choice
Over $7,533,584 Four first-round choices

also ... the third tier offer sheet that goes up to 3.013 million dollars ... does that compensation 2nd round pick have to be your own pick or can it be a pick you acquired from someone else?

sorry was not complete

Florida may have asked for both Mason Raymond and 25th overall pick for D Keith Ballard. Canucks won't do that, but the sides are close.

It changes from year to year depending on average player salary for the year prior I believe.

Nope, it's got to be your own original pick.

Sorry JStew, I'm a retard. No, I haven't been able to find them anywhere on an official website yet so I can't help. I think that those numbers have risen just a tiny bit though for the coming season. However, I'm sure that the GM's have a firm idea of what it is.

if i put myself in the shoes of Dan Hamhuis, why would i sign with a team before July 1st even if they traded for my neg rights. Especially if they are not offering what might be available come July 1st on the open market
yup. Hamhuis doesn't owe Philly anything at this point. ask for the sky now ,and you can still sign with Philly for whatever after July 1 if i fits.

Canucks front runner to land Keith Ballard from Florida. no word on return.. various TSN sources on twitter
does that mean we are not the front runner for Mitchell?
though 13 d-men to start the year last seaosn wasn't enough, so who knows.

I'd have done that. Eberle will be better than Seguin.
Eberle is just flat out clutch. I tend to agree.

I knew filo would pipe in...Good on ya.

I was on a little sabbatical due to a fly in the ointment.....I haven't seen that fly around recently so I thought I'd chime in with a lame joke :-)~

looking through my tweets there's a lot of movement with the nucks. they seem on the forefront of everything.

and ill sadly bet the only thing they end up doing is trading down, out of the first round
