I have a very long text thread on my Android phone. The first message in the thread is over a year old and the thread consists of well over 1,000 messages. It would be very useful to me if I were able to somehow make a file (e.g., a Word document) containing each message in that thread just as they appear on my phone (the date of each text, who sent it, and the body of each text).

Is it possible to do such a thing? If so, would you explain how to do so? Thanks in advance.

There's different apps for it. I use iExplorer, but I have an iPhone & a Mac. From there, I can view them on my computer or export them in a couple of different formats (Word, pdf and text files, if I remember correctly). Google Play should have apps for android. I know that when I used to have one, I was able to have texts go to my gmail account then you can label them accordingly. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure how to retroactively do it, but there is a way to record and compile all your text messages from a particular person using Upgrade your browser - IFTTT. You create a "recipe" that states something like "if I get a text from (whoever), then copy the message into a google doc". Fordman showed me that site and it's pretty amazing some of the cool stuff you can do.
