They had this dude, Madison Bumgarner, start for them and he did nothing! Had to send him down to San Francisco to work on a few things. Doesn't look like he'll be coming back to San Jose this year though.

Ray Black 1.0-0-0-0-2-3. Black is back. If he can ever stay healthy for a moment, still has insane movement and velo (96-98 today).

I looked up Black's minor league profile and on the transaction section it lists the last two transactions as such:

April 4, 2017 San Francisco Giants released RHP Ray Black.

Funny how the Giants could assign him somewhere 4 months after releasing him. There is obviously another transaction missing there.

Seemed a bit pre-emptive on his part, I think. His numbers weren't that good. Unless he knew someone was going to sign him and guarantee him a spot on a 25 man roster, I'm not sure why he would do that. Oh well. Maybe Caleb Gindl gets brought up to AAA. His numbers look really good at Richmond.
