... except for the Burns > Ian White thing... I am waiting to be convinced of that. So far, Burns is very very far behind in that race, IMO.

IDK...White is better at what White does well than Burns is at what White does well. Burns is better at what Burns does well than White is at at what Burns does well. But what Burns does well is much harder to come by and, imo, considerably more valuable. White also looks a lot better next to an all-timer than he did opposite anyone in teal.

So to me it's neck and neck. If Burns improves defensively at all (no where to go but up) as he grows more familiar with the team/players he'll pull ahead comfortably.

And to those who think White would be some greater value due to his contract (I don't think it was you Rares, but Likewall and was it Rules?): you have to remember that it wasn't a "Buy it now" price on Ebay. It's a very real probability that only Detroit gets that price.

True... I do think White could have been had for close to what Detroit paid, though. Maybe not exactly that low but for half a million more or something... which would have still been a bargain.

Agree on pretty much everything else, especially re: him playing with Lidstrom... no doubt that is a huge help.

One person mentions "troll" and you come out of the woodwork to post that?

Yes. I must post that.

Because you're the type of poster that screams with their ears shut. Or if you want to get technical, types without looking.

You're the one telling folks to not read your opinion. How about you stop reading gameday threads and getting your panties in a bunch when people speak derivatively about players - because, you know, that's what a gameday thread is about? Two can play whatever you're playing, yet you are here and compelled to post because no one is listening to you...

Actually that was the first time I ever brought up the bipolar GDTs... I barely read them because of just that, and I even more rarely post in them...
Yes two can play at what im playing, but if your gonna try & play, at least be good at the game like filo & rares. Your still in the minors kid. BTW your last sentace makes no sence at all. if no one was listening, then no one would have responded to the original article.

I dont think he'd be more valuable because of his contract value alone, I think he'd be more valuable because they would still have seto on the roster & there 1st rnder & prospect, and still have an offence Dman like burns.

Dumping on the team and saying not get to excited are the same thing, you act like I changed my opinion of the team from day to day like most people here do when they bag on players/team during gameday threads with a bipolar view of them... This team blows, marleau (or insert any player you choose) is a joke, trade him he sucks blah blah. OMG WHAT A GOAL BY MARLEAU! SHARKSS WIN WHAT A GREAT GAME MARLEAU IS INCREDIBLE!!

Thats basically every game day thread in a nutshell, you can change marleau for whatever player you like, it makes no difference its bipolar shit & bipolar shit... So if you think my opinions are trolling, then maybe you should look at the whole board and open your eyes alittle..

Ive said it time & again, if you dont like my opinions bout Niemi, the trades, Nabokov etc. BLOCK me or dont read my posts, its not that hard man.

And while im trolling you dumbass, the bring back blah blah blah thing is getting stale. cause if you look at my thread bout what dougie shoulda did in the offseason, I didnt make a big stink bout nolan etc. There were plenty of more practicle options. like DUHHHH resign White and dont trade seto, coyle & 1st rounder...

Dude, you are fucking clueless.....So funny to read the stupid shit you post...Yeah, really dumb idea to trade for an All Star D-man like Burns.
Babock was being interviewed when someone told him the Sharks got Burns and he said he was pissed off, because the Sharks just got better. But I think you're smarter than both Wilson and Babcock......

OMG cause Babcock was mad, then it must be great and we should all just go with it... You do realize you dont have to be that smart to make a trade? You do realize a lot of GMs make a lot of bonehead deals because their OPINION of the greatness of a player differs from the OPINION of the other GM right?

That goes for any job too. just because your boss is your boss doesnt mean he's smart or that theirs not a better option for the position. Just because a corporate guy comes up with an idea to install into the businesses he overseas, doesnt mean its a good idea just because of his job title...

Shit, just cause Obamas president doesnt mean all the dumb shit he's done should be considered great ideas & that be was the right choice for pres.

Yes I am clueless, I just put a post-it on my head incase I forget, thanks for informing me 23sharks

Yeah, you're right. I'd much rather have you calling the shots with Detroit than Babcock. Being the great talent evaluator that you are.
You definitely entertain me, and that's all I can really ask for.

No shit Sherlock.
You posted an article about Babcock praising Ian White, and you also made a lame comment on how stupid it was for Wilson to trade for Burns. I was letting you know what Babcock thought about Burns. Genius, let me break this trade down for you:

Sharks get Burns: A big, strong, great skating D-man who hasn't entered his prime yet.

Wild get:

Seto-The biggest underachiever on the Sharks. He had less pts as a forward, playing with Joe and Patty, than Burn did as a D-man.

Late 1st round pick. Sharks get a 2nd round pick in return, and that pick will probably be in the top 10. Not much of an advantage for the Wild there.

Coyle. A very good prospect. He may or may not become a good NHL player.

I guranfuckingtee you that other teams would have been willing to give up more than the Sharks did to get Burns. But like you said, stupid of Wilson to make the deal...........

Actually I post an article by Brian Hedger that had a small quote by Babcock... The article is not about Babcock praising White.

Just like you knew that White was gonna sign for so little before Free Agency?

:D

BTW, Heatley is on pace for a whopping 18 goals and 36 assists for 54 points. Setoguchi is on pace for 27 goals and 18 assists.

The reason why I don't like Heatley is not because he's smart to accept a high dollar contract. Like you said, it's not my money paying him. I don't like him because he's a no-hustle, lack of defense guy who has turned into a PP specialist. That makes him a detriment to any team trying to win a SC.

Did you not read about the trade when it happened??? Both GM's said it came together really quickly.
Just like the time Wilson was on the phone with Boston trying to trade for Samsonov, but then the Boston GM dropped Thornton's name. Wilson never gave him time to go shop Joe. I bet they could've got more than Marco-Stuart-Primeau if they shopped him.
You make stupid fucking statements all the time like they are facts. You don't know your head from your ass, but you are entertaining.....

>>It was also a great fit from White's perspective, despite reports that he initially wanted to return to the Sharks.<<
This is just one article, they are just "reports" and I technically Elkund makes reports haha, but it seemss pretty clear he wasnt asking for huge $$$ & wanted to stay... I never put the sharks23 "guarenfuckingtee" stamp on it tho. I wish Minn would have gotten other offers tho with more then what SJ offered

Yikes, burns is on pace for 35pts lol

The big difference here is Burns is starting slow while Seto and Heatler are both starting fast, and they both go into prolonged slumps every year like clock work
