I have both Martin and James. Their remaining schedule looks like this:

@SEA - MIA - ATL - @DET - @CAR - BUF - SF - @STL

I'd like to make room on my roster for a free agent, but I'm not sure which guy to cut. To be honest, I seem to be ok with my remaining RB (Stacy, Ellington and Miller) and will probably ride those 3 the rest of the way.

I'm leaning toward dropping Martin and keeping James (since he's the healthiest).

Objections?

I understand it must be frustrating to own Martin, but if it were me, and I was "happy" with Miller, Stacy and Ellington, I'd drop James. The chance of Schiano getting fired and Dougie coming back and lighting it up remains a realistic potential.

Just keep an eye on Stacy's injury...

I'd drop James. The chance of Schiano getting fired and Dougie coming back and lighting it up remains a realistic potential.

I see that just the opposite. If Schiano gets canned, then I can see the Bucs brass shutting down Martin for 2014. And if this firing happens in the next few weeks, then the interum coach will probably lose his coaching staff (OC, DC and STC) next season. So there is nothing to gain by running Martin into the ground. Literally.

But I'm often wrong.

Just keep an eye on Stacy's injury...

Saw a blip that Stacy's injury is NOT a high ankle sprain. So he looks to be ok, relatively speaking. Per Rotoworld: FOX Sports reported Tuesday morning that Stacy had avoided a high-ankle sprain, but Fisher's coyness isn't a terribly promising sign. Coaches rarely withhold good information. Stacy's status will be updated Wednesday. Oct 29 - 6:12 PM

If only they let James see 3rd down work then it would be an easy call... But James' value is very limited.

very plausible Joe, but on the flip side of that scenario, I don't think James has a chance at much production outside the home games vs Atlanta and Buffalo. So I guess if he helps you in those weeks...

I'm on the fence Joe...............sorry. One thing I want to mention on the schedule thing though is I lost out on Stacy in at least one league that he would have been mine for sure in becasue I didn't like his schedule.................just saying. I'm a Martin fan but I don't know if I would feel comfy dropping either of them right now.................but my RB's went from deep to 6' deep in about 2 weeks.............

You all convinced me to hang on to Martin. And now he's on IR. Should've stuck with James.

P.S. I'm not bitter. I appear to be ok at the RB position. But I'm weak at WR, and having James (now) would have been a nice carrot to dangle as trade bait.

apologies... I thought we were playing opposite George :)

your gut was right Joe, it sucks when we don't listen to it because of others, and sometimes it sucks when we do, I guess...

who was the player(s) you were looking at when you started the thread?

Don't feel too bad Joe..................in my two player keeper league my keepers this year (and supposedly next year) were Arian Foster and Doug Martin.................and Ben Tate was my sleeper-keeper. After that I have not one keeper worthy player.
