Fenway is about the worst place for Martinez game imo.


I expect his SLG to regress. Not to where he was as an Astro. But nowhere near what he did last season. And prolly significantly lower than his Detroit numbers.

His singles to left will go up. (10/12 hits in his career at Fenway are singles.)

he'll be hard pressed to repeat last year's power numbers, but I still think there's a good chance he hits around 30 home runs and slugs over .500. Martinez has the fourth highest ISO among hitters over the last four years on par with the likes of Trout and Ortiz. Fenway isn't a home run park, but that doesn't mean those potential home runs will all turn into singles.

I just feel like tMonster will only taketh away, not giveth, for him. Hits well to left, but not lofty to left. Not like he hasn't made adjustments before though.


Last year would be tough to repeat no matter where he was. Just a stupid season.

I remember us talking about him being a 100 million guy, a couple years ago. I still think it's a great add even if Fenway isn't ideal for him.

Kimbrel I believe is gone. And I would put money on Pomeranz going as well. Arbitration increases for Betts/Bradley/Betts might negate those gains though.

The Dbacks offered both short term and long term deals (allegedly). Reported to be at "similar levels" as the Bosox.
