he could push Moore for the backup role and that would save Miami roughly $2.5 mil if they go with Quinn. Only problem is Moore has shown he can play as a starter. Quinn can not.
Glad to see Quinn get a shot with the Fins. Tough when guys are labeled as “bust” and dont really get the best of chances - it is my opinion that was the case with Quinn - Not saying he would have been a franchise QB with us the first time around but would have certainly been a good fit - And I think that has been his problem with teams so far in his career - the fit just hasnt been right and that can easily contribute to struggles. Now, he is in a situation where he can get right.
I expect him to challenge Moore for the backup role - Moore has shown some things in both the starter and backup role, but realistically he is a backup. Moore peaked a very long time ago as an NFL player - he doesnt offer much more than what we have seen already - I think Quinn has slightly a little more to offer.
But as some have already also said - Quinn may not be on the team passed camp - We have some injuries at the position and a lack of competition so we needed to sign someone/
Pat Devlin has been waived - Might increase the chances of Quinn making the team - or could still just be around for camp and Devlin gets brought back after.
