Does Gruden get the same benefit of the doubt that Gibbs got in his first go 'round?

So as to avoid writing a book, I will just point out two things.

1. Most people do consider RG3 to be a franchise QB.

2. When we had a good O-line and defense and I was screaming that we needed to go out and make a move for a franchise QB, almost every one was saying dont worry.. .campbell will come around.

well most people are jumping the gun on RG3

and our o/line has been hot garbage for a decade

Good thoughts everyone. However - before going overboard on questioning the team & a potential bad record just remember that this is simply speculation on everyone's part, and everyone's motivation is different.

Perhaps deep down Skinsdad actually believes that the Redskins will have a good record but doesn't want to jinx them or appear to be a homer. I am sure that in any case he wants them to have a good record regardless. I would hope that everyone here wants the team to do well regardless. Forget about RG3, Hasslet, Gruden, other players , etc. What matters is the Redskins period & I hope for and expect the best from all of them.

As for the original question - I believe that Stymie nailed it. Given Snyder's track record he pretty much has to stick with Gruden through at least the entire season (regardless of how certain fans, mediots or players react). Most likely he has to stick with him beyond that barring an even worse record than last season.

As for your first pt - of course they are - RG3 has had one very good year & one bad one. Objective people - whether Skins fans or not - see this as a make or break year. Let's just wait & see what he does & refrain from any judgements until that time (& not worry about what he says or any other dumb stories that the media generates in an attempt to overhype the situation).

believe me if we can make a run at the playoffs or even make it i would consider us ahead of the game

i just think at this time you are asking a lot of a new HC . GM etc to do it all in one season

the next step is to get younger in the d/line and have the younger guys step up in the secondary

13-3 would be the homer pick. But based on the talent we have on offense alone, this team should be no worse than 8-8. That is, if the talent we have on offense is as good as advertised.

"I think the Redskins have to have the biggest variable on how they end up this year. I think the Cowboys will be right around 8-8 again, with 7-9 to 9-7 possible. Depending on RG3's health AND progression, I could honestly see the Skins anywhere from 4-12 to 11-5"

The above quote is from the main board & was posted by a Cowboys fan & several other non-Skins fans agreed. I believe that this is a pretty accurate statement. There is certainly the possibility of a huge improvement, but there are a lot of unknowns. Nothing we can do but sit back & see how it unfolds.

As I said before Cali... name me another team who thinks they have a franchise QB, but expects to lose?? Im not picking fights, Im just saying that with the talent we have, 10-6 should be cautiously optimistic.

100 percent agree
