Does Barkley get 500 touches this year ?

Sam Bradford was 3rd in the league in pass attempts in his rookie year under Shurmur and they were using Eagles practice squad guys as WRs.

I think the premise of this whole thing might be wrong. If there is a QB transition and the season is lost, Jones might get a ton of pass attempts.

I don't think Barkley breaks 400 and its more likely he is around 360 or maybe 370

Given their QB situation it probably happens. Hope not though, you don't want to ruin a guy by giving him over 500 touches.

Nah why waste him

Because he's all they have. They used a lot of draft capital on him and after seeing his production it's hard not to lean on him as much as you can. 500 is a pretty steep load to carry and not likely but I don't see how they can plan their offense around someone else.

Barkley could easily get 100 catches this year though too

Maybe but a RB catching 100 passes has only happened a couple of times in NFL history.

I'd imagine the Giants are smarter than that.

They definitely could have traded down for more picks and still drafted him. Nobody was even dreaming about drafting him near that position except New York.
