I think its slated for August. Yup, looking forward to it as well. Capaldi should give us a bit of a deviation from what we've gotten used to, but I think he'll be great.

I only said that because I just finally caught up and it said "coming in ___" which I figured was 2013 since the air date was visable. I started season 1 last summer and it took me a year to get up through season 7. I'm kind of excited for the new doctor and to be honest the last one was my least favorite out of the newer doctors.

Thoughts on Capeldi?

It looks like he is taking a more serious tone compared to Tennant and Smith. I am ok with that, because I think they were getting a bit too cheeky with the character.

However, I did not fall in love with 12/13 (what are we supposed to call him?) right away. He will have to grow on me.

One thing is for sure. I HATE the opening sequence. The opening sequence has always looked like the TARDIS traveling through worm holes. Now it is a bunch of gears? It makes no sense.

3 eps in, and I am still not feeling him yet. I am not passing judgement until the end of the season, though, and even then I will keep the book open. I don't hint I loved Smith until he was into his 2nd season.

I think that imagery is supposed to represent the inner workings of a time piece. It's OK, but I do kind of miss the wormhole look.

Took me awhile to warm up to Smith and I suspect it will take me as long or longer to really start to like Capaldi. I've liked him in the role so far but it still feels a bit foreign...

GREAT episode. Of course, it was Clara-centric, and not Doc-centric, but it added more to the Doctors back story than we have seen in newwho, outside of the War Doctor arc.

I understand Danny will become a full-fledged companion, but I am tired of the romantically involved companions. We already did that with the Docs in-laws.

I know what you're saying. I like him OK, but he has not endeared himself to me/us as of yet. Smith had me hooked by this time in his tenure. Still enjoying the show though. I've been letting the DVR record a couple or so, then the kids and I sit down to watch 2-3 in a row.

FINALLY a good episode!

Solid opening segment.

I still don't get Capaldi yet, though. I think he is portraying SOMETHING, I just don't see it yet.

Smith was a tired, run-down doctor, who, in a way, reverted to a child. You could tell he was hiding from something in his child-like behavior. Maybe the fact that the Doctor now has 12 more lives, and has faced the darkness in his past, he is no longer hiding. Maybe his quandary now is that he is struggling with who he will be for the next 2000 years, and trying to figure out his place and relationship with humans.

Or, Capaldi is just doing a crap job.

I am not sure.

Good finale.

You KNOW the Master is not dead, though. She was just teleported somewhere.

Did the Doctor know about Danny, or was he just so absorbed in whatever he saw at Gallifrey that he was oblivious?

If Danny is dead, how did they meet up with his descendant in the future? It looks like they are done with Clara's story, so I doubt they will address this hole.
